Seized as proceeds of crime, properties in three Australian states and cash in the bank.
Hmmm dunno what I think about this yet.
The discovery of an alleged illegal brothel ring "running throughout the country" during a COVID-19 compliance check has led to the restraint of more than $10 million in assets.
Cash, houses and apartments have been seized by ACT Policing under Operation Goeben, in the largest restraint of criminal assets in the territory's history.
This morning, Detective Superintendent Scott Moller said the brothel ring was "a significant business operating across at least three states".
The first brothel was discovered by ACT Policing in Canberra's city centre in March 2020 while officers were conducting a COVID-19 compliance check.
"It first came to our attention through the community complaining about the traffic through one of these premises," Detective Superintendent Moller said.
