It's a crock of shit.
Spot on as is laid bare in this article.

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/n...r/news-story/ff45eaf7a1483723247e156cad5f88e0

If deceiving the public over a period of eight months wasn’t damaging enough, Shorten then refused to apologise for misleading Australians when asked at a press conference, and showed no contrition for his deception when it was laid bare on Wednesday by the High Court’s damning judgment of Katy Gallagher.
Instead, he had the sheer audacity to blame the legal advice from ALP’s lawyers, the High Court and the Australian Electoral Commission. But the ruse played on the Australian public is greater than it first seems. The ALP has known since the Canavan judgment was handed down by the High Court in October its defence that MPs had taken all reasonable steps to renounce their foreign citizenship would no longer hold.
The October judgment clarified that taking all reasonable steps was applicable to extreme circumstances, such as in the case of countries that refuse to relinquish citizens. It did not apply to MPs who had simply sent in a renunciation form too late.

Old ABC lefty Jonathan Green and lefty Waleed Aly might have jumped the gun here by the looks?.......Last time I looked Anne Aly had Egyptian heritage.

Every chance someone might need to hand these two a flannel for the removal of that egg too.

I'm betting Aly is in the clear, and Shorten knows she's in the clear. She'll produce the documents, and everything will appear to be wonderful again.

Using this as a smokescreen to deflect attention away from his "rolled gold" promise and the 4 MPs he's just lost.

Perhaps Marshall and Turnbull should do like the recently elected WA Labor Leader Mark McGowan's just done with his 2nd budget in 8 months, how do you reckon that would go down with Bwooce and his lefty mates?? They'd probably be saying it was a much needed austerity move.....through gritted teeth. Or more likely blame the Libs.

WA budget 2018: Households cop big fee hikes to get finances back on track
Didn't the Liberals loose the last election over there, if so perhaps the voting public blamed them.

You're fooling nobody old son, you knew when you posted this bullshit she'd produced it earlier this morning as reported on multiple media outlets. One would have to wonder why she hadn't tabled the document publically before today to end speculation.

No, I didn't. I'm just sufficiently cynical to see through the smokescreen.

Just like we Conservatives stick together, so do you and your lefty mates...old son;)
And the reason she didn't table it is because Malcolm didn't require the MPs to do so, when he got everyone to do their self-audit last year. He specifically avoided going down that path, despite it being what the general public wanted.

That's right... It's Malcolm's fault she hasn't tabled it previously.

Not sure the word conservative actually fits the Liberal Party of Australia. In fact I'd go onto say that when Bob Menzies coined the name, he had no idea of it's true meaning, especially in the times that he did.

And if you mean not voting for the Liberal Party due to a decades old hatred, then you can call me anything you like........old son.

Here you go.....take it up with Paul McArdle a recognised expert in the field. https://twitter.com/4paulmcardle

Links to his articles.

And btw SA electricity price ytd in 2018 way out in front as the dearest in Australia at an average of $97.62

https://www.aemo.com.au/Electricity...Market-NEM/Data-dashboard#average-price-table
Well, I had a look at Paul Mcardle's stuff and I'm not exactly sure of what I'm meant to take away from it.

Re that NEM price, what am I meant to take away from that? Renewables cause SA to have a high price? That may be true, but what's the alternative? As I've shown, we're going at 1/10th the speed we need to with regard renewable installation. Seems like every state except SA and maybe Tas is aiming for short term gain for long term pain to me, still lucky for those states that the economic redistributive effects we have will take money out of SA and give it to them.

FWIW I'm a data analysis expert. That means all types of data, on any topic, from footy to energy to people. Why can't you trust my advice?

Ok I’ll draw you a picture.

It’s amazing, the economy is going well “it’s outside forces, nothing to do with the government”

The economy is going shit “the government sucks”
Close, it tends to be more like:
The economy is going well its - "its outside forces, because australia is only a small economy, this is naturally to be expected"
and/ or - "the government has contributed, but its luck, not good management"

Considering the poor level of understanding economics has of its field, there's no (or not much) shame in that second statement.

The economy is going bad its - "outside forces contributing"
and /or "the government has contributed, but its luck, not poor management"
and /or "the government has contributed and it is poor management"

He'd be a better option than Turnbull, Abbott and Dutton too
Did you miss the "present incumbent" bit?

For the record my choice for Liberal leader would be Christian Porter........new blood is badly needed in the leadership and about half of the cabinet at present IMO.....starting with that little weasel Christopher Pyne and Julie Bishop.

Not often I agree with left wing Unions but I'd support this, too often both Labor and Liberal are guilty of "parachuting" in preferred candidates over local branch candidates. i.e. like the Libs are currently proposing in the upcoming by-election for the seat of Mayo with the Melbourne based Georgina Downer.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/vi...s/news-story/913584ac4972cda7881828366437d65e

A GROUP of powerful left-wing unions have called for the ALP to change its rules and force all Victorian Labor MPs to live within 5km of their seat
A formal motion has been submitted to the party and will need to be considered at state conference in a fortnight, calling for a ban of candidates who are “enrolled at an address outside 5km” of the seat’s border. It is understood the new rule, if adopted, would also affect sitting MPs. This would cause a cataclysm inside Labor with several senior federal MPs and state ministers currently living in suburbs well outside their electorates.
The issue of where MPs live flared last year when it was revealed Labor speaker Telmo Languiller and his deputy Don Nardella rorted taxpayer money by claiming to live in the country.
Mr Languiller claimed almost $40,000 by claiming to live in Queenscliff while representing the western suburbs seat of Tarneit, while Mr Nardella rorted almost $100,000 by claiming to live in Ocean Grove while representing the outer western suburbs seat of Melton.
