Scomo is really sounding competent and pragmatic here. I hope he does learn that this is how you deal with significant issues.

It does help that this is purely a health and overall economic problem. No scope for lobbying and ideologies to influence decision making.

I do know for a fact that all governments across Australia have been generally in consensus with how to respond here (economy wise anyway). It's refreshing.
He's ticked most of my boxes.

High rates of testing per capita - check
Severe lockdown laws - check,
Massive government stimulus - check,
Rules to curb panic buying - check
Media campaign to inform public - check

Aside from that initial * up with that comment about the Rugby, I've been pretty happy. All of this with a minimum of political point scoring from either side. :thumbsu:

As I said, anything to the right of far left to you is far right and you keep proving it every time you post

As opposed to erroneously trying to pretend that conservatism somehow sits in the middle of the political spectrum 🤣

I agree

I have said before that if Sco-Mo makes health the priority over economics during this crisis that I will give him a tick and will overlook any future economic fall out.

While there was an initial hiccup, I am happy that he's sticking fat to ensuring the health of Australians and I definitely will give him credit for that.

He made some bad blunders early ("go the sharks")... but he's done much better in the last 2 weeks. I put that down to the National Cabinet, which has allowed him to follow the lead of the premiers, rather than having to try and lead himself (something which is completely beyond him).

But the other poster says hard right and that is an outright lie - or fake news to put it another way.

Conservatism sits just to the right of centre..and those on here that sneer at it sit very much to the left of centre. But you knew that already didn't you

Surely you're taking the piss

So where do the moderates in the Liberal Party sit within the political spectrum then?

On the left?

do you actually understand what far right is?...no thought not

Edit: If you think current conservative parties here and in the US are not centre right parties, then I can't help you

What utter lefty partisan codswallop....

Pretty sad I might add when moderators remove a gif freely available on Big Footy's own Giphy generator app above.

Don't go the strawman route.

You said that conservatives sit just to the right of centre, so I am asking where do the moderates then sit within that spectrum?
I'd suggest they'd sit in about the same place to the left of centre the "right" in the Labor Party sit. i.e Bill Shorten - right faction, Anthony Albanese and Tanya Plibersek - left faction.

Strawman route..ha. you missed your calling

well considering Turnbull was more left wing than right wing with his social policies - many of those wet conservatives sit in the centre and others like Morrison are centre right. Some in Labor sit centre and some are well left. So again, do you not think that the conservative party is a centre right party?

There's no conservative party, unless you count Bernardi's failed party.

John Howard used to always describe the Liberal Party as a broad church.

There's people within the party who have conservative ideologies but it's not a conservative party.

It’s funny, this 2 weeks I reckon is in to it’s 3rd week but we couldn’t expect you to keep up.

As for you brucetiki how the hell could you like this drivel?

Don’t worry. His normal transmission will resume afterwards together with his trips to Hawaii and his happy clapper visits.

Agree he took awhile to get going until mid March. He has done well the last 3 weeks now but given he defaults as a follower not a leader it isn’t surprising the states are the ones doing the job (noting each state has its own social gathering policies etc). And it is great he has become a socialist with his monetary giveaways.

3 weeks is about right.

So... are we supposed to get excited about 3 weeks of competent Government, after 18 months (since Scomo replaced Turnbull) of ineptitude, incompetence and corruption?

It's funny, I've read people comparing Scomo's response to Howard - "promise little and over deliver". The defining characteristic of the last 7 years of LNP Government has been "promise nothing and deliver even less".

What's funny is the bullshit you keep spouting......real funny.

But hey why would we expect anything else from you and your overtly leftist cheerleaders.

Yet to see you actually debate or rebut any of the points I'm making. I guess that means I must be right...

Either that, or you're incapable of independent political thought, capable only of regurgitating the contents of your FaceBook feed.

Which part was incorrect:
  • Scomo has had 3 good weeks?
  • Prior to those 3 good weeks his Govt gave us 18 months of incompetence, ineptitude and corruption?
  • His failure to deliver anything whatsoever of consequence, in the 18 months he's been in power?
