as much as i'll defend Chelsea and talk them up, how the the Chelsea 2008 team is on that list I'll never know.


Ajax of the early 70's gets my vote for best ever, but of course im bias.
Mind you I don't think a team revolutionised football as much as they did.

I think they were 9 points ( 2 pts for a win then ) behind Wolves with 2/3s of the season gone at the time of the crash. Wolves were cruising to the title.

That was a good team, great in ways but myth and wishful thinking exaggerates their position and a fine though not great Wolves suffer unfair assumptions. They would have easily won the title in '58 Munich or no Munich.


The greatest surely is the Real Madrid of Puskas, Di stefano, Del Sol, Gento, Santamaria etc. The only team ever to have had 2 men play for them who both have genuine aspirations to be regarded as the greatest ever forward.
