With so many sci-fi / fantasy movies coming out now, and especially franchises, eg, Disney-owned Marvel / Star Wars, with plans to pump them out. Is it time to consider having a dedicated Sci-Fi & Fantasy Sub-Board in this main board? Help keep the main board uncluttered with especially all the Star Wars threads that often hog the bulk of the first page list of threads. Or, maybe you prefer having a separate board altogether for all things Sci-Fi & Fantasy (movies, tv, books, comics, art)

I'd argue Star Wars isn't Sci-Fi, it's fairytales for boys. But if it gets Star Wars off of this board I'm 100% all-in.

An everything star wars thread is all that really needed similiar to marvel cinematic universe thread, random topics can be discussed in there rather than a new thread started for them and all the exisitng randoms ones can be merged and closed off. But you can still have separate threads for the individual movies for discussion solely about a particular movie.

Just make a Star Wars sub-board in this board. Unclatter this main board. A SW movie every year, and other SW topics periodically getting bumped, you know how us fanboys can argue over the littlest thing.

Not about burying. But almost "honoring", by it having its own place. People keen on SW are going to still find it and go there. And people who are mildly curious about SW or newcomers, will find it and we'll capture their souls.

A sub-board absolutely is burial. Look how slow the book one is.

And I think the idea sci-fi is a distinct genre is mostly bullshit. It's still about drama or comedy.

the main board would be less cluttered with star wars threads if you simply stopped posting them. i advocate one thread for everything star wars related.

Star Wars threads here are ridiculous. Bad enough the main one jumps 15 pages at a time with pointless drivel, having 15 threads is overkill.

There are multiple SW movies now, and SW EU (comics, tv, cartoons). And Disney are going to pump them out. You can't shoehorn them all into one thread.

Imo the best choice (not offered in the Poll) is to just make a SW sub-board, the fanboys like me, addicted, will find it and populate it, allowing the main board to be uncluttered. That is win-win imo. Rather than creating a whole Sci-Fi & Fantasy sub-board, or separate board. Movies are movies. It's just SW that is highly popular and also annoying -- so give it it's own sub-board here, and everything else can flow as is.

I think you just started this so there can be another star wars thread on the 1st page but this one is in disguise.

Also half those threads you posted arent thread wothy and could be all be discussed in a catch all thread.
