Even if he is overrated, why is that a reason to hate him? Its hardly his fault. If its based on that, then why isn't your man Wirrpunda in there? Or Mitchell White and Fraser Gehrig?

I just don't get the Lance Whitnall hatred thing. He NEVER argues with the umpires or has a whinge of any variety at all. He has NEVER been reported or done anything dirty on the field. He is not a pretty boy or 'soft girl' or whatever. Yet he's more than doubled dirty Libba's votes

If it was a player from our club, I would have guessed Camporeale perhaps. Some people, esp. Bomber fans, hate SOS and Manton, and hated Brown. But now that Browny's retired we don't really have any dirty players. BUT WHY WHITNALL???

Is it just because he's fat....or has red hair????? His lack of good looks is one of the reasons I like him so much. But I think Whitnall hatred is totally undeserved.

Bluey is actually my favourite non-Swan, by miles.

Sure he's fat and slow - but thats what I like about him.

In an age where the game is dominated by general purpose 'athletes', Bluey Whitnall is like a throwback to another age.

He is the quintessential non-athletic footballer.

The game needs more Bluey Whitnalls IMHO.

Great post BSA! With all the Croads/Hays/Koutoufides athletic footballers out there, I agree that he is a breath of fresh air to the game, more so now that the game is so dominated by athletes (no offence to them intended -esp Kouta!!). Thanks for the avatar comment - you are the first to appreciate it at big footy!
