I won't be getting it until there is at least 3 years of safety, efficacy and side effects data. Kid is fully vaccinated and so am I so don't start throwing antivax bs around. This is about me being concerned with big pharma and how fast this vaccine has been created and the $$$ in it for them. A strong healthy immune system and no metabolic disease will protect me. If people (including my friends and family) have bad lifestyle choices and co-morbidities they can rush to get the shot.

Yes because Big Pharma is going to risk going for the cheap buck on a vaccine that is going to be known by everyone on earth and might end up being needed by billions of people every year

Not until it was 100% safe with ZERO side effects

I've never had a flu shot
Yes I've had a tetanus injection

I've done reasonably well staying germ free since COVID began, so I may just continue to roll the dice.
I don't think any immunisation is 100% safe with zero side affects. So you may as well 'roll the dice' forever like with your flu shot.

I intend to

*Headaches* I might be able to live with (one side effect I recently read about), but I'm not getting an injection to prevent covid only to end up with something else that was caused by the covid vaccine injection (eg: cancer).

Its an individual choice but a quick google of the tetanus injection side effects (which you said youve had) has the following
Get it, dont get it, its entirely up to you but making the treshold "headache maybe" is going to make you an anti vaxxer

I said I could live with a headache as a temporary side effect

But I wouldn't want to get a vaccine of which the long term side effects are unknown.... that may cause something more serious down the line like cancer.

It's a funny one. When HPV came out people rushed to get it pretty quick. There's all kind of crap in food that people don't question. I've never seen people so worried about a vaccine before.

Its sadly the way the world is heading these days when people can have their own facts.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

If you didn't do things on the off chance they would give you cancer you'd have to live in a vacuum

I used that as an example the vaccine is being rushed in without examining the long term effects.

In the long run we are all dead - especially without a vaccine.

How do you not understand that the same logic you are using for this vaccine probably applies to almost everything in your life?

Well yes if you don't look both ways before crossing the street you'll probably get run over!

Being skeptic about one vaccine makes you an anti vaxxer? God we love to label people these days don't we

For me it's a combination of the speed it is being developed and the coercion that will be put onto everyone to take it. We've had both of these elements before but not simultaneously.

Did you read what i said at all? Ill quote it for you.

"Get it, dont get it, its entirely up to you but making the treshold "headache maybe" is going to make you an anti vaxxer"

If making your own personal threshold for declining any vaccination having the only side effect be headaches then yeh, you would be anti vax, because youd literally be against getting any form of vaccination.

I mean really, if you're so gung ho about non fully tested remedies, then take the Chinese or Russian "vaccines" that they've bandied about recently.

Or what about one of old mate Trump's methods............

any takers ? didn't think so!

For clarity here.

Xtreme you dont want to get it as it wont have been long term tested, thats fair. Having your benchmark as the only acceptable side effect as a head ache would seem to me to be a very high benchmark and would preclude you from having any vaccinations (i realise thats likely hyperbole)

ioppolo no, being skeptical of a new vaccine with very little testing doesnt make you an anti vaxxer. Having the only acceptable side effect for any vaccination being a headache would mean you wouldnt have any vaccinations, which would make you an anti vaxxer.

We all clear now.

I could live with minor side effects like a headache and such.

But getting a life altering side effect (such as cancer or anything that shortens your lifespan) as a result of the vaccine is not an acceptable outcome. Hence why the vaccine should not be rushed into production so soon. Kind of pointless getting the vaccine when it causes you harm in another way.

For Meissa Chebbi, 21, who like hundreds of other young Swedes suffered debilitating narcolepsy after a mass vaccination campaign against the 2009-2010 swine flu pandemic, the vaccine is not something she will be rushing to get.

More than 60 per cent heeded the call — the highest level in the world. But Chebbi and hundreds of others, primarily children and young adults under 30, were later diagnosed with narcolepsy as a side effect of the vaccine.

A link was eventually established to an adjuvant, or booster, in the Pandemrix vaccine which was intended to strengthen the immune response.

Narcolepsy is a chronic disorder of the nervous system that causes excessive and often uncontrollable drowsiness.

“I have sleep attacks all the time in all kinds of situations and at inappropriate times … In my food, at job interviews, at lectures, seminars, at university. I’ve fallen asleep at my workplace, I fall asleep on buses and everywhere,” Chebbi said.

“It has destroyed my life.”

The Swedish Pharmaceutical Insurance has so far approved 440 of 702 narcolepsy claims linked to Pandemrix, paying out a total of 100 million kronor (A$15.7 million) in compensation.
Vaccines are safe they said - how dare anyone question their safety or side effects. Nothing like ruining the lives of young healthy adults in the name of 'do whats good for society, shut up, take the jab or you aren't working or leaving your house'
