I see Demitriou's 19th man got a grilling from some politicians about nonsensical west Sydney and a maybe and a big maybe gold coast
team. Tasmasnia is the only way to go at the moment .If they throw millions of dollars at GC17, its only ever, a maybe. These AFL bosses
are amazingly pig headed about this. Some pollies think so too.
Any comments?

Why is it any of the politicians business about whether the AFL has a team in tassie or not? I would have thought it was the AFL commission and clubs concern what geographical areas the new clubs will be located in.

Surely they must have more important issues to concern themselves then sticking their nose into the AFL's business.

The AFL is big business, and, some people who know and realise that millions of Aussies follow this game and spend millions of dollars on it, may just be watching and saying what are these donkeys doing? The fact they questioned Mr number two and were pissed that Demitriou never turned up would suggest they have a hell of a lot of interest in it, wouldn't you say?

yes mate, the pollies are absolutely the right people to be determining how the afl should run it's business. they do such a fine job of running everything else. what would the afl know about football compared to our magnificent elected leaders ? let's get krudd to sort out the draw and gillard to organise all the pies.

Complete waste of time and money by the senators, if this has been pushed by the Tasmanian senators they really need to watch themselves lest the rest of the country start questioning why a state of around 500k is so over represented in the senate.

I agree. The government should have the power to run every business as they see fit.

They should also have the power to dictate to people how to live their lives.
