So as title suggest I'm English. Been living in Melbourne for nearly 2 years, guessed I'd get into the local sport. Last season was my first season following the AFL. Kinda gone for Carlton as it's geographically my nearest team but it's a tough watch.

Always on the look out for someone to go to the "footy" with.

First thing you need to learn is that it's POHM. Not pom.
When convicts first came to Australia they had POHM written on their backs, which stood for Prisoner of His Majesty.
You see we're not the prisoners anymore, stuck in dreary old England. So we figure you're the POHM's now, just that it's Prisoner of Her Majesty now.
Being a POHM you saw the light and came across. Do yourself a favour and see another light, and come across to a decent side like the Hawks.

Bit hard with the Blues (and maybe some Carlton supporters can help out here) but a lot of clubs have "unofficial" standing room cheer squads (for lack of a better term) who are pretty welcoming. Basically rock up, say hello, buy yourself a beer and you're in. The same crew rock up to the same spot every week so it's pretty easy to meet people and presto, you've got someone to go to the footy with.
 
If I was you I'd head to Perth where the rest of England live, at the worse Freo atleast won 8 games, Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrlon, no.
