And singles probably the best approach to an Australia Day BBQ anyway - once you get pissed enough you want the 'classics', not some obscure crap which you know you ought to like but really, who can be bothered?

Sadly that would be up to 70% of Dean's list. :D

Deb Conway (Do-Re-Mi)
Chrissie Amphlett (Divinyls)
Ella Hooper (Killing Heidi)

A quality trifecta IMHO.

Gotta love Missy too.

And here's one for the crusties... Electric Panda. (You Tube it!)

And while we're talkin' old school...

Wendy Stapleton
Sharon O'Neill
Renee Geyer
Christie Allen
Marcia Hines

Props for mentioning the great Billy Thorpe and The Easybeats....but The Party Boys ? My god.

And I should Red Card you just for mentioning Uncanny X-Men.

But since you went there......Psuedo Echo, Kids In The Kitchen, Swanee, The Radiators, Dear Enemy, Moving Pictures.....need I go on ?

Party killers, every last one of them.

Says the bloke who suggested Rat Cat. Seriously, learn to tune a guitar you gits.

Says the bloke who suggested Rat Cat.

"Suggested" ?

Errr....someone's taken the ball and run with it out to the car park.

It was a list of Australian bands. A-Z, as requested.

It was not, however, a suggested playlist.

(Btw, always had you pegged as a huge Moving Pictures fan. Appears I was right.)

Not my look out.

Hmmm....funny how people are so selective about the particular field of Art they choose to cast a discerning eye over.

In other news, I hear KL is loving the latest Barbara Taylor Bradford novel.

Come on... Joanie and the Romeo? That's classic stuff right there.

Ouch... you are so in for a bitch slapping. And then when I'm done with you, KL can belt the crap out of you. :D

*maintains dignified silence (while furiously searching wikipedia to find out who the hell Barbara Taylor Bradford is)*

No love for Jane Clifton?

Taxi Mary went gang busters.;)

Memory stretching way back, but was Jane Clifton on Prisoner? May have been called Margot?

I could be totally wrong, but something tells me I'm close.

You are 100% correct.

"Margo Gaffney".

Wentworth's in-house bookie, if memory serves.

I see you Jane Clifton and raise you Pat Wilson. Who's the Bop Girl? Who's the Bop? Who's the Bop Bop Girl?

Yeah, but was she ever in Prisoner ?

Bea Smith would have had The Bop Girl for dinnner.

Especially if she started singing that song.

You're not wrong. Poor old Ross Wilson pissed away 20 years of credibility with that piece of crap. Mind you, "Come Said The Boy" was bile as well.

Yep. 2 hands in the elna press for that, no doubt. Reb Keane would have done her some damage too. :thumbsu:

Absolutely.

Nola Mackenzie, Rita Connors, Franky Doyle.......

......to be honest, even Judy Bryant could've comfortably sorted her out.

To help celebrate the birthday of this great nation, i will be having a BBQ on Monday.

I want to put together a difinitive ipod playlist of music from Australian bands.

This is where I need your help, can you suggest songs for the mix, they can be from any genre, so long as they are aussie (and not adopted aussie). Anything from AC/DC to Yothu Yindi (don't know any Z's)

Thanks
M.

Look what you've started;)

No Aussie Day BBQ is complete without some Girlfriend or Frente playing in the background while you chew on a lamb chop.

Girlfriend or Frente? That is so.... ummmmm.... why do I suddenly feel like I've backed into a corner of political incorrectness?

By the way, thanks for the message the other day. And how did you earn your yellow card? And what happened to your colorful avatar?
