They are making another doco for he Adelaide Film Festival so I think a lot of early stuff will be covered in that.

They have to make the two docos different to keep people interested, especially one where people have to pay to watch it.

I didn't realise this. What's the idea behind making two?

That win against Norwood in 88. Still makes me tear up. Was the making of modern day Port Adelaide
I was 12 and at that game with my wonderful dad. It was the first time I really witnessed the true Port Adelaide mentality and culture of winning despite the odds. Will never forget high fiving strangers all around me.

Very enjoyable and stirring at times. I agree with those who felt that there were gaps (early years, current malaise) however am encouraged that there's to be a second doco. Overall it left me dissatisfied though because we are not currently performing as Port Adelaide should. Maybe the celebrations this year (& probably now next year) + a new coach will instil the players with that true Port Adelaide spirit, and on-field success will follow in the coming years. Carn Port!

Was great viewing. A special documentary and reminded us all of who we are, though the majority of us knew it all already was great to see on tele.

I've been bought up on the stories from my Dad who played there in 77,78 and his stories of what Port Adelaide was like, and how fierce training was in 77, a intra club game in 77 he still rates as the fiercest/best game he ever played in, well from what he can rememberas Granger wiped him ou, to my Uncle Paul who played there for near enough to a decade about who Port Adelaide are was great to see on tele for all to see. Same with my grand father who was part of 2 of the 6 in a row flags from memory was great to see what I've heard from two of them so well represented in the documentary, definitely made me emotional.

Credit to the club for putting it together, definitely will watch it again and hopefully have the opportunity to purchase.

Russell Ebert and Dwayne Russell both made a good point about accountability.

Russell Ebert said, 'At the end of the day, regardless of how you played you had to go up there (pointed to the the clubrooms) and face the Members'.
Dwayne Russell mentioned going into the club rooms after the game and 'accountability'.

That is a big difference between then and now.

Those after game scenes up in the clubhouse bought back plenty of memories even the pull blind with the club song on it. I remember the first night we sang the new song in the club rooms. The Big Fella pulled the blind down that hard it finished in a heap on the floor. Ah the Big fella what a legend. I remember when we got new carpet in the clubrooms and the Big Fella made evryone shut up while he lectured us on the carpet and did not want any beer spilled on it. You will never guess who the first person to knock a jug of beer over and drench the new carpet was.

Geez I miss the Port Adelaide football club that was a constant source of inspiration in the first 50 odd years of my life.
How any president could be silly enough to play that down with his stupid `little old blue collar club from Alberton' BS, is simply beyond belief!

lol unanimous.

Basheer are co were told to back Port or be ridiculed.

You could see just how much the pissant clown hated saying that.

We should tear his name down from the Adelaide Oval.
I met and thanked a member of the Second Licence Sub Committee for picking Port. He said there was no contest. Port's was a thoroughly professional presentation while The Cartel's was handwritten. The Norwood-Sturt one was also handwritten but had nice crayon pictures.

I was at Norwood the day of the Anthony Williams game. It was a spine tingling second half. Memory fading now, but I think we kept them goalless in the second half. Our half back line was superb (Phillips? Leslie? Abernethy?).

That backline...…..Phillips, Leslie, Abernethy, Delaney, Fiacchi and then later Northeast, Rizonico, Foster.

If I'm not mistaken, that Norwood game in 1988 was the making of George Fiacchi as well. My old man and his mates with whom I went to the footy as a kid, used to affectionately call him "Chicken George". I had no idea why. I always assumed it was us Greeks wanting to claim the little Italian as our own. And then came Tony Malakellis.

Koch popping in at the end to remind us that we don't have a women's team then some other drawing attention to making the community proud was Mass Effect 3 tier ending though. At least no Hinkley and his 'outsiders' remarks.
Goes to show how little the current heads have actually done.

An AA backline if ever there was

Yeah! I remember high-fiving. It was great. Shaking hands, too...

Too soon?!

Managed to get my face in there briefly with the GF footage, with Von. And a snippet from my uncle's interview at the parade on Spring St. Nice.
Had a small cameo myself in the 2004 GF video

I always enjoyed the Gentleman Jack sobriquet. He was brutally ruthless, like his mentor Fos.

Just read the AdamMarrett post with the internal trial anecdote for an example. ;)

Just finished watching the doco, it brought back so many memories of great players and even greater events.
The come from behind win at Norwood after Anthony William’s death still brings a tear to my eyes, even today. I was listening to the game in my car driving along Main North Road and bawling my eyes out. At Gepps Cross I was sitting on the horn.
Two things from the 2004 grand final, the great camera angles of parts of the play and the look on Matty Primus’s face just before Mark left the coach’s box. He looked so devastated.
