Yep, I like Stevens a good midfield accumulator, but I haven't seen him win many matches, I've seen Didak do it though, glad we kept him as he's happy at Collingwood.

Nick had his heart set on Collingwood, but Collingwood didn't offer anything near what he was worth at the time.

So its Stevens loss - not Collingwoods.
How can we lose something we never had.

How did Collingwood get screwed?

The truth is that Nathan was set to leave Collingwood & join Port Adelaide as it's inaugural captain, he was just about to sign the PAFC contract when the Crown casino stepped in & offered Buckley money to stay in Victoria. Don't believe me then ask Buckley & if he's willing to tell the truth about it. The way i see it is that if Nathan would've come back home to Port Adelaide we might've won a premiership a few years earlier, but it wasn't to be. That is the reason why a lot of port fans won't forgive him because he gave his word that he was coming home then he stayed for more $$$.

Also another ex Port Adelaide Magpies player who would've come back to play for Port in the afl when they first joined was Craig Bradley but we didn't ask him, i know this is the truth as well as Braddles told me a few years ago at a PAFC function to honour our best team of 100 years in the sanfl.

A grade midfielders play well in finals like Judd, Buckley, Voss, McLeod etc. A grade midfielders risk life and limb for 4 points. Stevens is not an A grader. Didak hasn’t played midfield so how do you know whether he can? Regardless, if all Didak is is a goal kicker I’ll be pretty happy. Leigh Mathews said of Daicos early in 1990 that had he realised he was such a goal kicker he would never have played him in the midfield and that was on the back of a 2 Copelands in the midfield. Didak is not in Daicos’ class as either a midfielder or a forward but who is.

Not trying to be funny, but are you serious?
Buckley had we got him, would of played in the 2004 premiership ( Im sure he would of made the team somewhere). And for Collingwood having one of the most exciting young lists in the afl who has said that? I havent even heard that coming from Collingwood. Bulldogs, now that is exciting.

Stevens wanted to come to Collingwood as his first choice, it wasn't his fault the deal could not be done.
It was just bloody mindedness by Port and they got screwed

well thats just port isn't it they do have a good bunch of junoirs we could pick up like caplin,selapek,surjan pearse, they are gonna be all great players at port or should we pick them up.

If Collingwood lost out on the Stevens deal then we also lost out on the Nathan Brown deal, the Wayne Carey deal, and any other deal not involving a player/pick leaving/joining us.
