The problem with Hartlett is that he ticks all the boxes except the main one of being a strong consistent performer on the field and a walk up starter to the side.

His form throughout his entire career has been inconsistent, and frustrating that he hasn’t been able to get anywhere near the best out of himself.

He has underachieved massively on his talent in my opinion, maybe he is the perfect fit for this team.

Hartlett captain would be great. It could fire him up on game day to perform better or at least lay on some solid hits.
Not sure if real or fake but I saw a leaked picture of poster with all the former captains names (AFL captains in teal) and at the top a big number 1 with Hartletts name next to it... Carlisle was tagged on the post on FB which is interesting.

Ollie's position at the club is now untenable IMO.

Can't be made captain again after his failed attempt to abandon ship. Will be even more disenfranchised than he already is once he actually is demoted from the captaincy.

He's just marking time in 2020.

Are we sure Wines actually tried to leave and it wasn't just his manager ringing around asking if anyone is interested so he can go to the club with an idea about his worth as a free agent?

How he responds this year will determine for me if he should be made sole captain in 2021. Hartlett should have been captain for last year and this year.

Jonas should have been nowhere near the role.

Well, hopefully he'll have a big year then in hope of earning himself a big payday from Carlton in 2021. Every year is a contract year when you want out.

It’s a tad premature for that, he’s not a free agent next year. If his manager has done that Ollie should be getting a new manager.

If he gets stripped of the captaincy now it’s all but proof that Ollie tried to walk out and puts him in an awkward position at the club, one where he will never again be captain after being the obvious replacement for Boak for the last 4 years.

Not hard to see him requesting a trade come the end of next year the ways things are looking.
