PORT Adelaide will break with tradition and appoint co-captains for the first time in the club's history.

Midfielder Ollie Wines and key defender Tom Jonas are set to be named joint skippers of the Power for the 2019 AFL season.

The decision will be announced on Thursday.

The announcement won't go down well with Port Adelaide's members, the majority of whom wanted the club to retain a sole captain when the issue was discussed at the Annual General Meeting earlier this month.

When did they conduct the survey that told them the majority of "supporter" wanted a sole captain. I didn't get to vote.

Of course it is very unlikely to happen, but what if we made a GF and won the flag this year, would people still be filthy at this decision then ?

Of course I won't. But I'm filthy now and a potential future flag won't change that.

I know. I don’t have a problem with people being upset about it, but I really just don’t care. We have been shithouse with 1 captain for all but 4-5 years in the AFL...

I'm not fussed as long as we are winning
The co captains is far from the most traditional thing about Port
Did we always wear the traditional black and white?

Anyway I'm here to cheer us up by reminding everyone that Kenny usually gets important selections right when it counts..

Think of Butch , Jakey at Full Forward , Dix playing ruck and nerves of steel Pittard as the last line of defence and kicking out ..... cheer up everybody

If the club can prove to me that having co-captains instead of a captain and a vice-captain was the difference between us winning a flag and not then I'll accept that it was a good decision.
