Have we thought about perhaps bringing in a successful captain from another club?

Not only is there a greyhound named Tex Walker but Ted owns, or part owns, a few racing greyhounds himself. At least he and Hinkley would have something in common unlike Jonas.

If port have Co-captains yet again next year, neither Jonas or Wines should be one of them.
Nothing would be more ridiculous than sacking both captains yet still going with co-captains.

So yeah that's probably what well do.

Was in Glasgow tonight to watch Celtic play.. Not the most exciting game but ticked off a bucket list thing for me.

Walked past a statue of someone who knew a bit about winning at a club that knows a bit about winning.

Thought of some of the things that Mr Jonas and others have said recently.

Apologies for the photo taken on my Samsung potato when it was 30 degrees cooler than adelaide.

Hope you enjoyed your time in Glasgow. Had a few days there, before going to Edinburgh by train. Good trip that.

Lol we are gonna keep co-captains in our 150th and it's going to be terrible.

They'll delay the news until well after renewal.
Doubling down on stupidity is so Port.

But we always listen to our members so yeh...

They're more actively targeting interstate supporters this year but they should have started doing that 5 years ago while the goodwill extended to Hinkley was at a relative high. So they'll definitely be holding off on telling supporters that they're going to keep screwing tradition in the year where they really should be honoring it.

“If we won the flag last year, no one would be talking about it.”

Tom, you didn’t even make finals.
You came tenth, out of eighteen teams.
You sold us the Co-captain model based on ‘more success’.
You trashed a club tradition because you weren’t up to it on your own.
The other half captain took the piss out of the club in the Pre-season and then again during trade week.

That’s why we are talking about it, you deluded fu**.
Wonderful summation

fu** even Ted had the presence of mind to step down.
You don't honestly believe that Ted made that decision himself without it being strongly suggested that it was in his best interest?

The Camry Crows had a dilemma in that they couldn't replace him as captain because he was chosen by Phil Walsh but they couldn't get him to quit so they made him a co-captain with Sloane. They would have convinced him that he'd cop it in the external review and that it would most likely recommend he be sacked as co-captain.

Very different from the situation at Ports where the administration and board are supportive of both of our half-captaincy.

It doesn’t matter what I believe or the circumstances. What does matter is that action was taken and the Crows will have a superior leadership structure in 2020 while we appear set to maintain course.

You said Ted had presence of mind :p

Apparently Ted was pretty chuffed that he got a pass in his IQ test until someone told him it wasn't out of 100.

Need a break from working on my game :)

You walked into the captaincy
Like you were walking into the Parade
You said you might take an offer to go to Sydney
But for the captaincy you would stay
You had one eye in the mirror as you
Destroyed the soul of Port Adelaide
And you're very good at being the martyr
Being the martyr and

You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you
You're so vain
I bet you think this song is about you
Don't you?
Don't you?

You were quite good several years ago
But you keep flattering to deceive
When you told Howard that the money was too good to refuse
And that he'd be better off if he leaves
But the truth is you were thinking that
It's either him or me
We had a dream about
Clurey and Howard
Clurey and Howard and

You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you
You're so vain
I bet you think this song is about you
Don't you?
Don't you?
Don't you?

You're so vain
I bet you think this song is about you
Don't you?
Don't you?
Don't you?

Well I hear you went up the river with Wines to Echuca
To make sure you had some fun
Then you made your way over to the Eyre T-Bar
To take on a black diamond run
You're where you want to be all the time
And all the fans are white noise
You can't accept that maybe
You're part of the problem
You're part of the problem and

You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you
You're so vain
I bet you think this song is about you
Don't you?

Unbelievably good!

Wow .. serious piles of steaming :poo::poo: being written here!
EG... "So Wines had approached Carlton ... " ... So we call the club liars, and post blatant bullcrap like this! Hypocrites?

Just as a context ... think back to when Boak was approached by Geelong at the end of 2012, with their delegation of Scott, Selwood, and Bartel scooting into town to woo Boak to Geelong. The same Boak who was hailed a hero for staying and appointed captain a few months later.

Sure there were differences, but then there were also similarities. Do you honestly believe that Boak's manager hadnt spoken to Geelong before? Hadnt been in discussions about him going to Geelong? That Boak didnt know they were coming, hadnt entertained the thought of leaving? .... Lets make him captain! ... We did, and he turned out a damned good one!

Wines hasnt spoken to Carlton! There are no indications of any serious moves by him to move! He has had a terrible year, so has the team, the coaches, and the club. He, like most, would have been generally unhappy, and he specifically unhappy with Ken. His manager knows this, and his name comes up in hypothetical discussions with another club. How do you know his manager didnt raise his name in a discussion, come back to him for his views, and that he didnt tell his manager to get stuffed, he is staying?

There could be a something to it, or there could be nothing to it ... but we have some seriously childish dummy-spitting going on!

I don't doubt that contact with Carlton was made.
