I believe the following Port Adelaide players maybe on the trade table come October 24.

Brendon Lade (would have to be an exceptional deal)
Jarrad Schofield (would have to be an expceptional deal)
Che ****atoo-Collins
Dean Brogan
Scott Bassett
Michael Stevens
Derek Murray
Adam Kingsley
Cain Ackland
Barnaby French
Paul Koulouriotis (apparently 4 other AFL Clubs want him)

Any interest? If so what would you be prepared to give up
?

We'll give you Nathan Buckley, Anthony Rocca, Alan Didak, Josh Fraser and our 1st round pick for French and pick #102.

Willing to throw in Paul Licuria and Scott Burns to sweeten the deal.

Exceptional deal to lure Lade??

Exceptional might have been the wrong word but I must say I rate him higher than Barnaby French.

Lade is a fantastic tap ruckman and I think he has more of an upside than French. We are getting the most we can out of French where I believe Lade still has another level or two that he can go up that we have not seen yet since his injuries.

French is no more than a second ruckman who dabbles as a forward or a defender while Lade is a very good ruckman when fully fit and a very good marking forward who can kick goals.

Houlihan and Fevola and our last pick for Brogan and Koulouritis and Bassett.

Why would you get rid of Kingsley? He's a former club champ and a senior player. He's excellent running out of defence.

I agree with Scott, Ladey before he got injured was on absoulute FIRE, and he is up the top best AFL players from what he produced, and was heading down the road to be a champion player before he got injured, this year coming back he has struggled to find form, but it would be hard to come back after two broken legs, i hope for his sake that we give him another season, sort of like Bowen lockwood, coz we know what he is worth to the team, but i would only trade him now if we got really good quality in return, otherwise i'd keep him next season

Brogan, Bassett & French are worth a look at maybe for a mid round draft pick, as for the rest no thanks they are either has beens, crocks or no hopers,

Why would we want any of those, apart from Buckley? I wouldn't pay or give ratsh1t for any of em except bucks. Fraser is crap, Rocca is okay'ish, and theres probably 20 players in the AFL that are better than Didak in the role he plays ie: small forward goal kicking type. Licuria had a good year, but we'll see how he goes next season when other teams pay more attention to him. Collingwood had a pretty good year and played well in a couple finals, but in all honesty Buckley, Nick Davis, and Tarrant would probably be the only players i'd be interested in if i was Port, and somehow i don't think those 3 guys are going anywhere :)

Hey Scott why would you have Kingsley on the trade list? He's an outstanding player for Port in my opinion, should be played in the midfield more often again. Maybe when Wilbur comes back he might be able to :)

Gretel

You are right, Kingsley should be played more in the midfield more but if Port are not going to use him there I see no point hanging on to him.

99% of his time is spent in defence and this is where he is found out. He is great if he has the chance to run off the half back flank but he continues to let himself down when he is deep in defence and particularly when the ball is not running Ports way.

A prime example of this was seen in the Kangaroos game, I remember many occassions during the game when the ball was deep in defence and he just full on panics. Instead of running the ball out in this situation he would rather just dive on the ball and hope not to be called for holding the ball. When the ball is bounced he then hopes like hell that the ball doesn't come his way. As far as defenders go he is our weakest link which does say a lot when we also have Poulton in the side.

He also has no idea on what to do when standing on a fast leading forward, eg. Graham John**** when we played Adelaide earlier this year.

I also remember the first Collingwood game this year to be a terrible one as well, Mick Malthouse had him worked out very early.

Kingsley is now 27, ranked 11th in the Club Champion Award. His stocks are up so I guess it is best to trade him now before he gets too old.

No, don't think so Scott, just nobody seems to be talking right now... tell you what though *koulababble* I seriously think Koula might at least play out his contract with the Power.

I agree with Scott. Kingsley is a dud.

His foot skills are poor. He is slow. His decision making skills...would be the worst in the league just about.

How many times in the last 3 seasons have you seen Kingsley with the ball in the defensive 50, jogging slowly forward with the ball with no idea what to do. He will go to handball, then think again...run a little more...go to kick...then think again...bounce the ball and he ends up getting nearly tackled and either giving a hospital handball to a teammate or kicking it scrubbily forward to the opposition. He has no defensive skills at all so he is no good as a stopper.
As a defender he is shocking. Considering Mark Williams is reluctant to play him in the midfield...we NEED to get rid of him. He is a liability.

Nice post Scott, Port have a wealth of talent and there's some excellent trade bait there.

How about Adam Kingsley for James Begley? Kingsley will be 28 next year, so he's getting on a little bit. He's a very good player, I like him a lot - I'm surprised you've put him up for trade. Begley turned 22 in July, has definitely proven his worth this year for us. He's a Sturt boy, and I get the feeling he would relish the opportunity to play at home.

I'm not sure how you rate Kingsley or Begley for that matter, certainly if they were the same ages then I'd compensate with some draft picks, but Begley may play for another 9/10 years and Kingsley for just 3/4 more. Any thoughts? Would you want more?

Michael Stevens for Chad Davis + Daniel Wulf?

Barnaby French for James Blake and pick #35?

Just a few thoughts...don't crucify me for them ;)

I must say that I do like James Begley but I wouldn't swap Kingsley for him, how about Michael Stevens for Begley instead?

Davis and Wulf wouldn't add anything to our club and would probably only make our side weaker.

Jason Blake wouldn't add too much to our side either.

All of the above players you have offered are either too injury prone or haven't been able to find a regular spot at the Saints. Compare this to regulars in French and Kingsley who play in a very good winning side and you would have to say that Port would be silly to do any of these swaps.

You could always up the ante.

Alrite.. the Roos will take M.Stevens and u can have Cochrane- straight swap. Nick Stevens would never have to worry about playing the Roos again:D:p

How would u like David Bourke? You can have him for Koulawatshisname..

Go Roos
