Game Day Port Adelaide v Carlton Blues - Rd 5, 2021

Only just saw it briefly but looked like Carlton got a goal from a free because the boundary umpire couldn't throw the ball in straight?

and our player touched it. Instinct is a bit hey

Our midfield really stood up, defence is solid, big forwards preform better, and small forwards are always good. Gave up a few late goals, but still happy

Done what we had to without ever looking more than a goodish side.

One day I'd like to see us finish off a game with some authority, even if we do have injuries etc. See it nearly every week from the best sides, maybe one day we'll get there.

We'll need to bet in a much better space next weekend, even with injuries.

Carlton were trash, we had patches of good and extended periods of some really average stuff too.

Drew 14 touches in less than a half. His first couple were shaky but he was very good.

Jones’ attack on the ball tremendous.

Bergman did well enough, just needs to be as direct and decisive with his kicking as possible.

Woodcock played the busy high forward role we know he can. Some early clangers but got cleaner as the game wore on.

Mayes is just vanilla. He’s not up to the pace or intensity we play with. Yes, he had 20 touches, but we would be much, much better getting games into Mead.

Not a bad win from a side that 50% need hospitalization.
Some of the young guys needed to take up more slack to take some load of those injured. woodcock was disappointing imo needed to do more.

Good to get the win, still a lot of work to do. Some great performances from some of the team.

A bit disappointing to see how soft both Motlop and Amon are, both defensive liabilities.
