Was mute commentary formerly an option Kezz?

I didn't use it much (Parents had too much control over the TV :() but I had a muck around one day and I think I could turn to commentary off, or even replace it with what the umpies were saying. It was pretty fun.

It was back in the day where if you hit the red button on Foxtel you could choose different camera angles, look through statistics and choose your commentary. I have a feeling switching to radio was an option as well. Thinking about it now, it almost seems we've gone backwards...

Thanks. Was overseas back then. Have updated accordingly.

Another option at half time, was they used to show the Auskick kids. My sons enjoyed watching them. Got a feeling it wasn't on every game, only the Sunday arvo game. Back when Fox only had 4 games to show.

Anthony Hudson.... I thought he was a bit of a dill when listening to him on ch10, a bit of a Bruce wannabe, but as the Lions weren't on FTA too often, didn't hear him often enough.
Enjoy him commentating on Fox and his fill in role on AFL360.
He had a great weekend, firstly with the Lions win over West Coast and then the Buddy show in Tassie, 13.... Thirteeen !!!!

I am not sure where to post this, but perhaps one of my more esteemed fellow fans could offer some tips.
I am trying to watch the game on via the AFL website, however it is shockingly pixellated. I can watch video without this problem from all other sites. Is there a better option? No foxtel and i live in Vic so no free to air. I AM GETTING TWITCHY.

You can change the quality. You are probably on low, but you can use medium or high. Click on the up arrow at the bottom right and then 'change quality'.

Thanks Grim. It works most of the time, others with variable sucess. It started working now anyway, will upgrade the quality and see what happens. Thanks for the tip chief :thumbsu:

It was a good win in the end. We should give Port a fair bit of credit - they put up one hell of a fight and were generally much better for the first three quarters in terms of their intensity / putting their bodies on line to win the ball.

The intensity we played with in the last quarter was fantastic. Unfortunately we can't seem to maintain that sort of level week in week out.

It was good to see Green, Zorko and Beams play so well - gee we look so much better with their pace in our team.

The one crucial issue that contiues to dog us is our centre clearances. It has really become quite farcical at times this year. We are so fickle in there that going for long stretches within games without winning a centre clearance is not uncommon.

When Black goes in there he still shows the rest up in terms of knowing where to be to win the ball. Redden, Rich, Rockliff, etc. could do a lot worse than repeatedly being forced to watch a highlight package of how Black wins centre clearances over the summer. In general I think we set up far too defensively and flat footed - Rich is one of the main culprits here. Redden has been pretty good but even he needs to improve. Raines has been good as well but he needs to be given more licence to win the ball in the centre clearance situation - how good was he in the last quarter against Port in that regard?

One of our other big problems in the centre clearances is that we fail to quickly get supporting numbers to the ball / for the clear hand-off if we win. Port were absolutely smashing us by doing this on Saturday.

Changes for the final round:
- OUT - Hawksley and Crips
- IN - Stiller and Bartlett (or Docherty)

I think our clearance issue is probably an experience thing. Once the boys adapt better to reading the ball and each other, it should sort itself out.

Midfield bonding sessions anyone?

I've been concerned at times that we might be approaching centre clearances with too much of a defensive mindset. It seems each of our guys is responsible for one of the opposition's, and rarely do we have someone walking around before the tap trying to get into an attacking position.

In saying that, as strong as he's been for us, Huddo is no Leuy in terms of ruck-work. I think we'll find quite a dramatic transformation in the quality and quantity of our centre clearances when he returns.

Drives me bonkers when every single one of 'em sets up behind their opponent.

Yeah exactly. It's my biggest criticism of Woewodin as a midfield coach, and something that will need to change for us to become a successful side. We should be approaching each centre clearance with the mindset to win it, not to stop the opposition winning it.
