It's not meant to be but it is. Shaw was pretty poor against us but has had a reasonable season so he got the nomination.

I thought Wingard was exceptional. Port pretty much belted us in the midfield for most of the game and Wingard, with Boak/Ebert, was a big part of that. Green would have been a worthy nomination but Wingard is a deserved nominee.

Nah Wingard probably deserved it over Green, only just though. Without our disappointing third quarter though he wouldn't have had anywhere near as many touches. Let's hope Green gets rewarded after round 23.

I'm not sure, I just find it tough to argue that Wingard's influence on the game was more than Green's. I guess it is true that they look at the full season though, in which case he is well ahead. Port needs a bit of a positive story now anyway. Hopefully the red poodle can get one this round, I think he'll be ineligible next season based on games played.

Just checking out this game again, and upon reflection with the emotion taken out, the commentators really were all about Port in this match. Especially in the 3rd when Brisbane took the foot off the accelerator a little bit. Huge chop at Merrett and Redden for undisciplined acts.

I always thought Anthony Hudson and Lynchy were the only commentators who weren't biased against us last year.

Possibly a few others but the majority were pretty bad.

Another thing I noticed that I must have missed first time round was Polkinghorne's one handed pickup in the wet to shoot it straight to Brownie's chest against the flow. Another half unseen play that lead to this game being Polk's best of the year in my opinion. Low possession, but did good things with it when he did have it.

A bit of work to do to lose his whipping boy status, but I don't think he is on a downhill slide anymore.
