2nds Port Adelaide vs Glenelg - Round 19 @ Alberton

Saturday 4th of September. 2:10pm at Alberton Oval.

For details on how to watch the game go to this thread: https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/watching-the-maggies-in-the-sanfl-in-2021.1255843/

Pending the injury lists. There is a chance Georgiades, Hartlett and Jones are included in this side. Butcher has a hammy problem and may miss.

Apparently Goldsack might be ruled out with a toe injury.

Lienert and Mayes could also be included as well after being sub/travelling emergency the week before.

If selected, it would be Sam Mayes 50th SANFL Game, and Mitch Georgiades SANFL Debut.

There is no AFL game this week so I assume 22 players will be held back and last weeks sub (Powell-Pepper) should be available to play here.

To make finals we must gain about 5% when beating Glenelg. South must lose to West Adelaide, Sturt must lose to North.

When Kane was interviewing brother Chad this morning he referred to "our Bays". To Chad's credit he was having none of it. Can't really remember his exact response but it made him very uncomfortable.
To be fair everyone needs a social club as well as a football club.

In his interview today Goldsack said he won't play this week and also mentioned it as a potential 'farewell game' if he was going to play. Not surprising but seems to confirm he won't play next year.

RossFC has Butch been ruled out with a hammy injury, or is it there as a potential injury given we had the bye?

He was listed as TBC last week, I remember him saying he’d struggle to make it for the last game and it’s more likely he’ll just come back for pre-season and see how his body holds up for that.

Kane is weird. Says "our bays" but loves wearing the Prison Bars and has played 300 games for Port Adelaide.

The way the sanfl framed the rule in their initial press release on medical sub was that the player was ineligible to play in the sanfl in the same weekend if they had got afl minutes as the medical sub. So by that definition spp would be eligible to play as it is a different weekend lol.

I'm sure the sanfl are busily coming up with rules that prevent this from hapenning however and even then I'm not sure if we would play spp this week even if we could.

I'd be playing Sam if we could.

He's had a good game in the sanfl the week before last along with a good quarter at afl level.

Drop him back and really get his confidence up against Glenelg and all going well he's sub in the prelim and sub in the GF without worrying he was a little light on fitness.

Hopefully we get a massive crowd to send the boys off and spoil the bays party.

South would have to lose to Westies by 10 goals and we would have to beat the unbeaten bays by 10 goals to make the finals and give our lads another SANFL game.

How many players can we lend to westies ;)

Try 20 goals if Westies are good enough to win 60 pts.

At the moment South have +33 pts for and we have -159pts for so its a net 30, no 31 goal turn around needed. Plus Sturt need to lose as they are plus +66 pts, so if they win even by 1 pt we wont make up the difference with a 38 goal win.
