Butcher with a great contested mark. Steers it left from 40 out directly in front, connection wasn't horrible, but not perfect.

Ball goes down the other end and Harvey with a cheapie out the back for his first.

Can't be at the game but seems like the stats for the team are solid. Right people getting lots of touches, Butch, Doogs and Reynolds all kicking a few. AFL listed players doing what they should be. O'Shea, Hoon, Butch and Mitchell all putting their hands up.

Sounds like Johnson is starting to find his feet.

Bonner and Snelling may be in line for some AFL time this year.

I loved Josh Carr as a Port player, but I'm glad he'll be miserable tonight :)
Tonight Carr will be buying dinner for Chad Cornes and Dom Cassisi.

Game played in parts with a definite scoring end. 9.9 of 34.19 was scored to the Alberton end, but in two quarters, the first and the last, both Port and North had no difficulty scoring to that end.
The game was very much played in bursts, although the second quarter was all Port. First 7 minutes of the first quarter were all Port, next 8 minutes were about 50/50 with Port extending it's lead a bit and the last 8 minutes were all North with them stealing the lead just before quarter time.
The second quarter started with a Butcher goal after a minute and they just kept on coming. From 3.1 in the first quarter Port kicked 10 straight goals before their next behind.
Port were 57 up at half-time and although a bit on the back foot in the third were still 52 up with 10 minutes to go in the third when Reynolds kicked a point, North rushed it down without us touching it and they kicked a goal. They got to within 32 points at 3/4 time which brought back memories of a recent game when we were 58 up on Glenelg just before half time and eventually won by 8.
However, in the last quarter we set up the win with early goals before they came back a bit but could not cut the margin enough. There was another 11-point turnaround when Butch missed a sitter after a strong pack mark and they rushed it down to Harvey in the goalsquare.

Bit of a tapas game today IMO, not so much a game of stars but lots of individual contributions. Credit to the top-up players like Summerton, Reynolds, Sharrad, Biemmens, Robbie Young, Masters, Ross etc. For those with a player of interest from the AFL list nearly all had their good moments. Nice to see we have some depth if we have to go to the well again soon.
