Snelling, Ah Chee, Hewett, Houston & Bonner picked up a few possessions
Mitchell 39 ...........

Mitchell astonishing and pretty much the reason we won.
Butcher had IMO one of his best SANFL games, only occasionally 'switching off'. Every goal earnt, no shanks, no seagull goals to artificially boost his scores. Also a couple of old-fashioned speccy marks in defence.
Colquhoun an excellent possession getter and distributor in defence, well in the first half anyway.
All likely delistees but at least they still play with spirit. Hinkley and a big slab of the club's officials and players watched on the balcony of the Allan Scott HQ.

Yeah, no he wasn't. He had a big body but was not at all athletic.

Cookie boy usually isn't too far off the mark, but describing Matt Thomas as athletic is stretching things just a tad. o_O
We'll agree to disagree. He was quite agile and quick off the mark, he had an outstanding leap and he was extremely strong. I dont know what else to call him. He had all the physical attributes required, in the same way AhChee does, unfortunately they both appear to have the same inconsistency. AhChee's disposal and sticky hands probably the differentiators.

The free that was missed from pretty much dead in front in the third was Butcher at his baddest. Unfortunate that we went to sleep when Norwood and the umpires both realised that there was a game against Port happening. It would be the most unlikely occurrence that Centrals would lose to West to allow us into the finals but they need to do it by 30 points now. If we'd tied up a 60-point win then West would have just had to struggle over the line by a point.

Good to (most likely) finish the year with a win.

Disappointing final term. Not sure what happened. Run out of gas? Took the foot off the pedal? Both?

Maggies are always at the Power's mercy. But the improvement was obvious throughout the year. From the desultory depths of the Unley Unabombing to today's heady highs of that fantastic first quarter. Played some really exciting footy.

Belting the Dogs at the Ponderosa was a personal favourite.

The development of the next gen players - Austin, Bonner, Howard, Frampton and Snelling - is something to get out of a pretty dismal year for One Club. Houston also seems to have found his feet. Reynolds and Rudloff have shown a fair bit, too.

Now for a Bloods miracle...

Crowd highlight of the day:

Fiddy-ish bloke driving his son (about 12) absolutely nuts by calling our players by the names of long-retired greats. Example:

"Number 31, Trevor Sorrell."
"Dad, that's not his name."
"Lookout, here comes Bomber."
"It says in the Budget - "
"GEORGE FIACCHI!!!"

*Kid throws Budget on the ground, Dad can't wipe the s**t-eating grin off his face*
