Yeah, it's a bit odd. I'm all for getting games into Ramm early in the season. But it does seem a bit of a stretch to do that and give Marshall his first games as a key defender at the same time.

I thought it'd be one or the other in round 1.

Plus with Aliir ideally freed up to intercept and Marshall to create plays as a kicker, it feels like a trio of second or third talls down back lacking a fullback.

I've wanted Hinkley gone since 2017 and have been liking what I've heard from Carr so far.

But one thing coaches need to nail to get the best out of the team is selecting the right players in the right positions. Without this, it is impossible for the team to play to their ability.

For mine big Sav and Sinn are definitely ahead of Ramm and Mead (who should be a back up only used if we have many injuries). Moraes also very unlucky.

I'll be worried we have the right man for the job if the selections are like this for round 1.

I am of the oppinion that Butters is so competitive that he would rather his best mate since childhood in Watkins play in the SANFL if it gives the afl team a better chance to win

Not that i necessarily disagree with you here, all i will say Watkins won the SANFL BnF & made the SANFL team of the year, more than happy with him getting a run in this game, clearly not getting a go in the midfield ahead of our with a healthy list but happy to see what he can offer tomorrow.

Agree. Unless Ratugolea’s in poor early season form, the trio of Aliir, Ratugolea and Marshall looks best balanced for mine and most dependable.

If Watkins plays I'm thinking it'll be somewhere between a Boak and Kane Mitchel type role. It probably wont be the same as SANFL. He is a good runner

Brodie getting a whole heap of it. He’s way above state level. With 5 on the bench at AFL level I reckon there should be a mid rotation spot for him.

Might be controversial but I see no reason he cant push out Wines.

Brodie may have played well but Ollie is a gun inside player and it’s proven at AFL level. I’m liking what I see of Brodie though.
