The problem with this is that the umpires don't seem to have any idea what an actual genuine attempt is. You see all the time players trying to wrestle the ball free and because it's pinned and doesn't really move then get pinged. But players which punch the ball into their chest which will never realistically get the ball free get a ball up.I hate the rule but the umpires have been hot on 'genuine attempt' all year. Rule needs changing but wasn't the worst decision of the day.
Hmmm, they never seem to really sing the song with any passion
lol, we really belted out the song. I think Kerr was falling asleep during that.
You missed a BOG performance by McGinnity.
Genuine LOL on the song ...
What's the complete opposite of passionate?
Can we all now agree that Dalziell isn't up to it? Cheers
Game only just started.A very meh win - we move onto Collingwood. How's Josh going?
After that single game just now? I thought he brought as much as Swift or Stevens have so far this year, if those are our other options.
Wasn't fantastic but also wasn't hopeless for a depth player. Seemed to have some trouble adjusting to the AFL level a few times (if you can call Port Adelaide AFL level) and perhaps getting used to playing a game with the Eagles squad as teammates. All in all about what I expected today.
If he had kicked that goal his game would've looked a bit different, just as Swift's would've if he had kicked some of the goals that he has missed.
This is technically correct - take a gold star - a decision that was about as useful as the missed push in the back from NNThere is no way the Mackenzie holding the ball was right. You need to make a legitimate attempt at disposing of the ball as he did not dive on it or drag it in and had no prior opportunity. He was unable to even attempt to dispose of it because of the way he was wrapped up in the tackle so it should have been a ball up. It's not the same as the ones where players put their arms out saying the ball is being held to them as their arms being free means they can attempt to get the ball out.
Was hoping for a better performance today but in the end a 48 point win isn't the worst thing that could have happened. We'll have to play significantly better next week, that's for sure.
