He took 2 really strong defensive marks in the last couple of minutes of the game to snuff out the pecker's attempt to pinch the game. I like him. He's looked as good as any 200cm forward in his first year on our list that I can remember
He might not have got a lot of it but you can tell there’s something pretty handy to work with with Whitlock

Honestly think if he had a good off season, adds 5kg and gets fitter, he might get a good chunk of games next year

This has been mentioned before but I wonder if Kyle Marshall might get another look in. He's added some size and has been a handy tall defender this year.

Club's best:

Best: Williams, Watkins, Moraes, Lai, Mackinlay, Marshall.

He was very good. Higher up than that on my list. It would be annoying if someone else picked him up after we let him go for nothing without giving him much if a chance.

Or can he be signed as a DFA?

Did alright, was solid.

I believe he can be. And he obviously likes being around Alberton.

200cm key defenders are always worth a look.

Marshall impressed in his draft highlights video as very mobile for his size (201cm I think).
But looked miles off it in the SANFL league ranks.
A bit more to his frame and a year more mature and hes starting to de vvelop into something bettervthan when on our list prior.
Wbo knows?
Talls can take years to blossom.

I thinks it’s too kind comparing them to criminals, they are absolutely using different interpretations for both sides. One of the corrupt maggots looked about 75.
Interestingly the SANFL gamestats pages don’t show team free kick counts.
Logically given how amateurish they run the game, they do show the count for individual players.
Team totals 17 - 31 yesterday

Hooray, at last I got to watch an entire Port Magpies game in 2025! Now at least I have a fleeting impression of the entire 2025 list.

Terrible conditions made free flowing footy difficult.

Moraes looked good, Whitlock has strong hands and did some good things but he didn't do them often enough to mark him as a player of the future at this stage but he is young and has time on his side.

McEntee showed that the SANFL is his level. There, don't let it be said that I did not have a nice thing to say about Jed.

Good to hear Timmy and Casey question several umpiring decisions. That 17-31 free kick count must have seen a huge turn around after quarter time because I though he got the better half of it in the first quarter.

How many frees does Stephen Rowe's spawn James get in a game? I forget who the Port player was but one of our guys tacked Rowe over the boundary and would not let him go in a hurry, obviously no love lost between James Rowe and the Port Magpies players.

Just looking at the outer I found it sad to see lawned area instead of the old terraces where so many of us stood in the glory days. Dad's Army Bar, the terraces and the N.L. Williams scoreboard gone. Geez, I reckon the ground capacity would be 8,000 max these days. I was there in 1977 when we had a record crowd of 22,738. I watched the entire game from upstairs in what was then the the Footballers Club. Times change for sure.

Only saw the last quarter live on 7+ but I was impressed with Whitlock doing a Westhoff and sitting deep in defence and taking a couple of big strong marks with a wet ball when the Eagles were surging and stopping any chance they had to win.
