No other team has purple so you are half correct you can drop the black or the white.Red and green were part of the Dockers kit too we can drop teal if we like just as we have with the away kit.

And why would we do that? we can completely drop teal if we like, silver is also an official club colour. No other team has purple so you are half correct you can drop the black or the white.
No one is asking about the magpie logo - why does this keep coming up?Would Port Adelaide fans want the club to give up their current guernsey and identity if it meant bringing the Prison Bars and Magpie back?
Okay. Fair enough. Would Port Adelaide fans want the club to give up their current guernsey and identity if it meant bringing the Prison Bars back?No one is asking about the magpie logo - why does this keep coming up?

Better change the club song then as it references teal. Maybe "borrow" Sydney's song like the Port Magpies do?And why would we do that? we can completely drop teal if we like, silver is also an official club colour.
pOrT PoWeRz EsT. 1996 iS tEaL bRo!!!We can but I doubt that we would, most likely we’ll still have teal (and silver) in our back pocket. It’ll probably end up as part of the clash guernsey rotation in the future and it comes in handy for gameday things like stadium lighting anyway.
Funnily enough I think wearing the Prison Bars will actually lead to less supporter resistance WRT teal, not more. Currently it’s a symbol of compromise and subordination, but if we were free to celebrate our heritage and ya know pick out our own clothes it wouldn’t be.

So silver will be added to the prison bars? And why would we do that? we can completely drop teal if we like, silver is also an official club colour.
Yes dont need the magpies logo thats irrelevantWould Port Adelaide fans want the club to give up their current guernsey and identity if it meant bringing the Prison Bars and Magpie back?
So silver will be added to the prison bars?
A dash of silver or teal on the logo is fine.So silver will be added to the prison bars?
What Collingwood wore in the VFA is irrelevant to the VFL/AFL, just like what Port wore/wear in the SANFL is irrelevant to their AFL identity of which teal is a central component.Dont forget Collingwood were Britannia wearing Red White and Blue before they joined the VFA in 1892 and adopted the Black and White with the Magpie as emblem that year as Footscray were already Red White and Blue in the VFA comp.
It's not more central than black & white.. never has beenWhat Collingwood wore in the VFA is irrelevant to the VFL/AFL, just like what Port wore/wear in the SANFL is irrelevant to their AFL identity of which teal is a central component.
FFS mate, don't regurgitate Michelangelo Rucci bullshit from 20 years ago.Dont forget Collingwood were Britannia wearing Red White and Blue before they joined the VFA in 1892 and adopted the Black and White with the Magpie as emblem that year as Footscray were already Red White and Blue in the VFA comp.
Eddie does have a point though as PA didn't use the Black and White prison bars until 1902 and had various other colours before that from 1877 when they a founding member of the SAFA.
Diagonal stripes according to the Argus.FFS mate, don't regurgitate Michelangelo Rucci bullshit from 20 years ago.
Britannia and Collingwood are totally separate football clubs.
Britannia football Club dissolved in 1892. Some members buggered off across Hoddle St to join Fitzroy, some of the remaining members formed a NEW football club called Collingwood.
Black and white stripes and the Magpie nickname has been Collingwood Football Clubs identity since its very first game in 1892.
as to your other point, Port Adelaide had been playing footy for 32 years before the club changed from blue / white magenta to the black and white magpie identity.
Really??Diagonal stripes according to the Argus.
maybe go back to that?
But the issue with guernseys is about stripes as well. Hence my post.Really??
my post was in response to Collingwood wearing colours other then black and white,
and you come back with something lame about inclination of stripes
OK,But the issue with guernseys is about stripes as well. Hence my post.
Not lame. Truth.
Lame is Collingwood and excuses right now, starting at the top. And getting worse today.
Correct. Brittania did.OK,
so you agree that the original post i responded to, relating to Collingwood wearing red white and blue was blatantly incorrect.
their first choice home kit as been variations of all-red for over half a century. so unless you're over 60 and practically seen them play live at the ground, you wouldn't have caught them playing in any other kit unless you trawl through old photos and vids. they wear an all-red kit and will most likely play in it indefinitely keeping the distinction between them and their greatest competitive rival. in contrast, Port are attempting to remove a distinction between them and a competitor and adopt a similar uniform in colours and design. Port may not have an issue with it, but Collingwood do. it's an 18-team League with fixed composition, and Collingwood are the biggest brand in it.
Port Adelaide fans are confusingly arrogant for a shitty little club (it's all relative and in the big league you're a small club) with one premiership.
