The rivalry will be escalated if Hawthorn can land Butters.

Gee their midfield looked strong at times! Glad the Hawks managed that win but it could have gone either way.
 
Has always been a little more then neutrals realize between port and hawthorn

The 2001 semi final loss was absolutely heartbreaking for port. And it's always been a little more feisty then a normal match

And it goes back a little further. Port players have gone to hawthorn because there is a small link. Burgoyne, Impey. Amon, then going a little further back, Gilham, Dew. Then a couple of others who wanted to however couldn't really make it work and ended up at other clubs. Like

The ginnivan and Hinkley thing was just an interesting clip they could make news out of, rather then do a dive into why, the casual viewer isn't going to care why they don't particularly like each other due to more boring history
