Not surprised about Hawthorn being scared I spose is the word. All off season they've been on guard with us, from Clarksons comments about the "Port Adelaide" rule in marking contests in their 1st NAB challenge game to us demolishing them in 20 minutes without 2 of our best players. You know what their going to do next time we play them and I welcome it. We are already in their heads and won't go anywhere. Up to us to put ourselves in a position come September when they have to face what they fear the most, which is us at Adelaide Oval. We know it, they know it and as much as their fans don't want to admit it they know it to.

thats one of those that look funny in isolation, but its pretty clear when you watch it a few times that he was running into space. he looks over his shoulder for the ball, but it looks like he is looking over shoulder at ladey

Agree with those who say we're not overly physically intimidating, but we definitely hold our own in that area. Guys like Wines, Trengove, Hartlett, Jonas and Lobbe will all throw their weight around.

Where we are really scary is when we go into god-mode.

We've seen it a few times now. It doesn't matter if you're Fremantle at Subi, Hawthorn at the G or whoever. We have bursts of play where we can absolutely rip a game apart in 10 minutes of unstoppable footy where the opposition will barely touch the ball, and teams just have to weather the storm and hope we miss the shots we get.

We don't do it for 4 quarters yet, and i'm not sure it's possible to do it for 4 quarters. What we can do, however, is hold our own for 3 quarters and in the other quarter blow a team out of the water with unstoppable god-mode footy. We're going to continue to beat the best teams in this league, not because we're better for all 4 quarters, but because we absolutely blow them away for 15 minutes, pile on 8 goals, and then hold our own for the rest of the game well enough to hang on.

I have no doubt the Lewis and Hodge incidents were premeditated, so far as they were embarrassed by their first quarter against us last week and had not started well in any game this season, and were coached to be aggressive and not take a backward step against North. The Hawks have been kissed on the dick to 'only' be playing GWS and Melbourne whilst they both sit in the stands.

Did anyone else on the western wing at the hawthorn game see hodge take a wild swing at jonas but missed him? Jonas got him back by tackling him hard into the turf and giving away a free however.

I don't think we are overly intimidating in a physical sense. We are tough at the ball and tough at the contest and make teams run after us all day long. We intimidate teams by challenging them to a tough and relentless game of football.

Yup, was a definite tactic and the umps did nothing. Obviously they use a different tape measure when determining 15 m kicks and when players are within that 5 m no go zone.

I noticed it too. I think they got just the one 50m penalty against them (IIRC it was on Eddie) for such an offence.
