Port are Intimidating

Thought this deserved its own thread after hearing this but delete if you must...

A friend of mine, seems to know every one in the AFL due to his line of work, was talking about how he gave Jordan Lewis a call about his suspension and when asked why Hawthorn played more aggressively (Luke Hodge, etc) and he said "Your team pissed us off, we realised we had to be even more intimidating from now on."

The team who've won the last two premierships and highly tipped to win a third...seem to be setting us as the benchmark.

Doesn't that feel good?
It's funny you bring up this subject because yesterday on SEN they talked to champion data about Port's I50 differential in recent weeks and since 1999 no team wins with that kind of discrepancy and yet Port are doing it against highly rated teams, their theory is that Port's ability to score at such a rapid rate is putting the fear into teams to just try and continually bomb it in with no real substance to the entries.

I noticed it too. I think they got just the one 50m penalty against them (IIRC it was on Eddie) for such an offence.

The one against Betts was because he went to tackle (or may have even tackled) the player with the ball before the umpire had called play on. The umpire had blown his whistle for the ball to be moved on but hadn't called play on.

Yep, the Crows supporters were all sooking because he'd blown his whistle. They blow their whistle every single time for the hurry up before calling play on. Every time.
