Cripps used to be a great player. Whenever I watch him now he just tries to run through tackles instead of using his handball. Maybe being in a bad team for so long he feels like he has to do everything himself.

I’d say he’s already looking ahead to his move to WA next year and has already given up on the blues

Whatever the case is for his ability, and it’s a compelling one, I’m still dirty at this:

Travis Boak 2019

• Games: 21 (10 wins)
• Disposals: 637 @ 30.33 per game
• Clearances: 146 @ 6.95
• Tackles: 102 @ 4.86
• Goals: 10 @ 0.48
• Goal Assists: 14 @ 0.67
• Best & Fairest: Yes
• All-Australian: No(!)
• AFLPA MVP: No
• Brownlow Votes: 16 (17th)

Patrick Cripps 2019

• Games: 20 (6 wins)
• Disposals: 560 @ 28.00
• Clearances: 170 @ 8.50
• Tackles: 123 @ 6.15
• Goals: 13 @ 0.65
• Goal Assists: 6 @ 0.30
• Best & Fairest: Yes
• All-Australian: Yes
AFLPA MVP: Yes
Brownlow Votes: 26 (3rd)

The preloaded narrative that Cripps carries a terrible Carlton on his shoulders and is therefore worthy of every accolade going with logical weighting for pity added,

While Trav — who has also been carrying his club in one way or another for a decade — goes from largely anonymous to only being recognised for largely the same season whenever Port stops tripping over its own d¡ck, is certifiably bonkers.

Cripps has had some good years, but he's ridiculously overrated. This year he has absolutely no defensive intensity about him at the stoppages, and looks to be moving with lead weights in his shoes.

Cripps isn't even in the conversation as a top A-grade midfielder if you were to go on this season's form alone.

On Saturday night, the commentators were so focused on discussing who would ‘tag’ Cripps, they failed to notice Travis doing the job as well as racking up his own possessions.

Then post-game, they seemed to only want to make jokes about how old Boak is.

The utter lack of respect is infuriating.
