I'm not writing him off. I'm saying he'll play exactly the same way he did here.
With the Hawthorn reputation bonus that Burgoyne received, he's probably going to end up with his own statue if he simply maintains his 2018 midfield formline

Reading the North board and was just reminded Ben Jacobs was a thing. Their thread dedicated to him is oddly effusive.

Did I miss the part where he became anything outside of a failed mid cum injury prone tagger?
When fit he did a great tagging job for them in a number of games.

Plenty of tests await our new crop they'll get more attention from opposition and have dips in confidence & form, we are also yet to see how their attitudes change once big coin starts rolling in and they gain bigger profiles/egos.. early days the attitude is nearly always good with draftees.
And so I will enjoy it while I can.

There are too many things to bring us down as it is.

Until things change I intend to fully enjoy our new recruits.
There will be ups and downs of course but both Duursma and Burton for him looks like a fair swap.... at this stage.

Of course I would be more than pleased it Clarko has stuffed up on this one.

The warning signs were there with Wings from when he was recruited. AFL has never been his number one priority. Still, he gave us 3 excellent years?

Picked Saints to beat the Crows. Saints are not an amazing team but on a high. The Crows are garbage. Both garbage. The Crows are not a finals team. Either are the Saints.
On paper Saints should win, but the Saints forget how to football (even more then usual), when they play Adelaide. Plus we don’t get nice things, like Adelaide effectively out of finals contention this early in the season. I expect Adelaide to win and be up and about for the Showdown. If we win Friday the odds of Adelaide winning go up further.

Lol St Kilda will destroy Adelaide. The Saints are better around the contest and spread harder.

Not sure when people will realise that Adelaide are shit.
Adelaide aren't shit, they just aren't very good. But neither are the Saints, really.

Reckon crows win this one and finish the year with 11 wins.

Nah they wont work as hard, run as hard or spread as well as the Saints, they are a bit one paced Adelaide and they've lost Milera which makes it even worse.

They had to bring in Cam Ellis Lolmen AND Hugh Greenwood to pair with Sloane and the Couch brothers just to win contests and make sure teams don’t whip the ball to the outside. That’s how bad it is.

And it worked with a fair bit of success, yeah? It was only GC and it's not an overly sustainable strategy but my point is they're mediocre, not terrible.

They'll win enough games against average sides and you can lock them in for a big win against a top quality side like they always do.

Bottom six is terrible, and that’s where they’ll end up. Right around the pick they gave up for Carlton (who will beat them)

The tingles aren't that good, but I suspect the aint's bubble is due to burst soon and it could be as early as this weekend's game.
I don’t see the Saints being a bubble that’s about to burst team. They work hard and don’t give their opponent an easy out. I don’t think there’s much flash in the pan about them. They’ll knock off teams who aren’t prepared to work.
Gold Coast were the classic burst bubble team. South Adelaide would have knocked them off on the weekend. They were as woeful as anything I’ve seen in years.

Yeh was funny listening to the radio hearing about how the Crows are back playing Corws footy again. Jesus, even we would have beaten the Suns at home. Give it another week I reckon before the 'back' calls are made. Beat the Saints over there impressively and then we will see.

Well, the difference is we beat a team that actually had talent, a good venue record, and a premiership.
The crows beat a second-hand suns team that they've never lost to, at their own home venue.
I think they might still win next week, but even if they make finals I don't think they'll make it very far, they're such an un-motivated side. Just look at how lazy they got in the Hawks and Cats game.
