If Adelaide had played the game on its merits instead of flooding back as if they were playing a team that was superior than they were and the umpires weren't so obviously in their pocket (Stephens was ridiculous), then sure.

When they decided to keep +2 in defence and we lost the long kick of Burton, no chance.

We went into the game with a negative, tired and unimaginative plan for AJ and Farrell and got exactly what we deserved. That the Crows were able to win with such a pathetic strategy says more about our coaching ineptness than it does about them. They should have been held to account but we played right into their hands time and again. What's worse is that the Crows have repeatedly employed the same tactic against us (+2 in the middle or in defence) and we always come up short.

The surprises there are Gold Coast and St. Kilda not getting more. Otherwise the usual 'Big Vic' clubs being protected from the shitty slots at everyone else's expense.

So 198+48+21= 267.

Its why Robbie Gray wasn't counted in Port's numbers. Because he'd put his hand up to be available so went to Assess, not definite out.

dixon would take the best tall defender, gray the best small. so in that sense it makes no difference. talia is not gonna play on gray for example./

Which is sensible scheduling. If there's clubs that will pull a similar crowd at that time, then utilise them regularly. We get a fair drop off, so we shouldn't get more games, just because we're West of the border of 'The centre of the sporting universe!'.

No. Quite a few first KPDs have spent considerable time on Gray. They often stay back and guard whoever sits in the goalsquare, while we often try and isolate Gray up forward. Oppo coaches back the KPDs to beat Gray in the air, while we back Gray to kill the aerial contest then beat them at ground level. Gray isn't often tagged by a small defender all game. Brad Sheppard is one of the few that consistently does it.

It’s rare because generally the best one on one defender doesn’t have the agility to go with Gray.

Besides, my point is that Dixon playing helps the rest of the forward line because generally speaking he will draw the defence away from an isolated Gray one on one with an opponent because they are worried about him getting the ball on the 50 and bringing our goal kicking backs into the game. Without him, the defence can sag back and smother the entire forward line because there isn’t that target man they have to worry about.

Adelaide tries to do a similar thing with Walker. Does anyone believe that our defenders would have been so timid in pushing forward if Walker wasn’t playing? I don’t. And Dixon is a far better contested mark than Taylah.

If Frampton gets his shot, he needs to be that bad man who terrorises defenders. The guy who makes everyone else walk taller. That’s what Dixon brings to the table.

According to the Bulldogs site......

Tom and his manager Liam Pickering met with the Club this morning and reached a friendly resolution of all contractual matters. That resolution included that Tom’s payment in 2019 be reduced and that payments previously agreed for 2020 and 2021 be cancelled.

I assume his current contract becomes void if he renegotiates with the club.

Boyd's contract has been cancelled from 2020 and 2021, so that's probably leaving a couple of million on the table. Gotta admire his honesty. A lesser man would've kept milking the Bulldogs for the cash.
