Yep I called it at half time that if Edwards starts getting clean disposals then Tigers are a big show.

Ever since I read the thread linked below on the main board in 2015, by a Richmond fan, that AFL coaches think Shane Edwards is a better footballer than Cyril Rioli, I have taken special note of him, first laughing at the though, whilst acknowledging that he is a decent player, to slowly but surely building his output so that he is as important to Richmond, as Cyril was to Hawks. Edwards has gone from a quality small forward to a star mid fielder.

Shane Edwards is absolutely a better footballer than Cyril Rioli.

2009 we signed Choco up again re that dopey Ricky Nixon engineered 30 June clause, and in August we asked Dima to come be Choco's assistant for 2 years and then take over at end of 2011, but he had already applied for the Richmond job. He got the job at Richmond about 10 days after we spoke to him about the succession plan.

In 2010 we were 5-2, but in that 7th game to go 5-2, Treddders ruptured a ligament in his ankle, that never recovered after surgery and he retired about 10 weeks later, the Monday after Choco's last game a coach.

In 2010 we then were 5-4 and playing against a 0-9 Richmond coached by Dimma, celebrating our 140th birthday and got smashed in a torrential downpour Saturday at Footy Park. That was the 3rd loss in a row of 9, to end Choco's tenure.

The point is that it was clear we should not have signed Choco as his time has elapsed and ww should have offered the senior role to Dimma.

I dont disagree with you - with the benefit of hindsight, but the board was never going to not give Choco a contract extension mid season in 2009 only 1.5 seasons after we played in a GF.

Its why Greg Boulton deserves a kick up the arse for agreeing to Ricky Nixon's request for a 30 June clause.

I’m by no means one of those kick a vic guys, but jeez it bloody sucks watching finals from the sidelines and then these other clubs circle for our players like we are a feeder club come trade period and then we listclog our way to 10th over and over.

So Richmond lost Jack Graham to a dislocated shoulder (came back), Dusty and Cotchin copped knocks and were well down on output, and Riewoldt barely touched it.

They had a moustachioed strongman from a 1920’s circus in ruck, and of course have been missing Rance all year.

Still weathered the barrage to overcome a Geelong team playing their best footy in months, coming from 4 goals down to storm into another Grandma.

And we let our best season in the past 5 years be sunk by a couple of injuries playing away to Freo Thirds.

If we’re still sucking on the “Richmond stuck with Dimma” teat as regards our esteemed supremo and his non-exploits measured against the one at Punt Rd, I’d be much happier skipping the middleman and seeing my membership dollars go to Cankles.

At least he deserves the money.

AFL doing magic up in the northern states.

Only costs them hundreds of millions of dollars to assist the development of players to return to Victoria.
Dion Prestia has been an unbelievable recruit.

He’s a great player, especially in big games. No fan fare

Always been hard at It, but his skills have improved

What our inside mids should aim at

Chris Scott expects Geelong to improve. Must have some amazing youth elixir in mind for Selwood, Dangerfield, Ablett and Hawkins.

Just to update my stat from the other day - of the 15 teams currently not in contention for this year's premiership, all bar one either has a premiership coach or a coach who started in 2017 or later.

Sliding doors, eh...

So I only just realised there was a game on last night, such has been my interest in this finals series.

Haha Geelong. Suck a fart Dangerfield.

So far the results have gone the way I would have preferred - Dogs out, Bombers out, West Coast out, Brisbane out in straight sets and Geelong choking in a PF again.
I'm completely fine with any of the remaining teams to win it.

Richmond have a lot of good/great players playing in their prime. Geelong don't. Selwood, Hawkins, Taylor, Ablett are on the decline. Dangerfield is like Boak and Gray for us. May or may not get one more prime year.

Edwards was great last night but I thought Cotchin was the barometer. As soon as he started getting frenetic in his attack on ball and body from the start of the second half, you could see the whole team go up a few gears.
