I'm assuming the campaigners at the sma have said they won't staff at least one of the upper decks, and as the crows now can't pull a crowd it doesn't matter. Hence reduced capacity and Port supporters miss out. Very South Australia

Essendon still don't have anyone to do the grunt work in their midfield. I could see them taking a crouch, though I think they already traded this year's first rounder

Edit: plus dodobird would offer a third rounder and a second round pick swap
He's a free agent.

St Nicola got spooked by the crush at the exit turnstiles halfway through the last quarter.
Plus one of her top priorities is to protect nursing home residents, who shouldn't be congregating in such large numbers at Crows games.

I'm obviously missing something here because I can't work out how having 13K people in Adelaide Oval made the Transition Committee realise that the capacity needed to be reduced from 25K to 20K.
Because the Crows won’t get anywhere near the capacity this season, the answer is to lower the capacity!
Effectively legislative tarps for them.

As chiwigi posted above, Bad Couch is a restricted free agent so that gives the Camry Crows the option of matching the rival club's offer but there is no trade. The pick they are talking about getting for him is the compensation pick as determined by the AFL.

I've read people defending the extremely poor turnout on Monday night using the fact that it was a Monday night game. That shouldn't affect the Camry Crows' crowd much because when you're retired every night is Saturday night.

This would be typical SANFL/Crows/SMA mentality.

They have been trying to drag us down to their level for decades.

Quick random question, are Saints a bit of a joke in the AFL? I was reading up about our next opponents and I mean, 1 flag in a century and a half of existence, back in a time of black and white pictures, plus one thousand wooden spoons, more than double the second club in that regard. Why are they such a big failure? lol
Unique blend of very shit and very unlucky when they weren't shit. Somehow have attracted the most well known supporters however.

In the early 70s they played Hawthorn in a grand final and both sides had similar records. Hawks won and never looked back. St Kilda struggled for another forty years. Sidings doors moment.

Because SMA is incompetent and can't open the top decks... Why are they covering that up, that's the story.

There not supposed to know what compo they get before matching or not?

2 cases in the whole state and they're slashing crowds. What a ******* backwater SA is.

SMA can't afford opening all the stands to spread people out? Seriously?

This is why they won't be hosting the grand final.

Lol. Geez you aren't happy unless you are raging are you?

I remember your outlandish end of the world stuff, as is your penchant, when the COVID stuff kicked off in March, that never eventuated, especially in Adelaide because we did the right thing. Now in your neck of the woods, you are going into proper lockdown because you couldn't get your shit together. I expect you almost get a perverse kick out of that because in Malbun at least, there is some misery, something I think you thrive on. But even as bad as it is in Bleak Town, your predictions of the Health System collapsing and mass deaths really hasn't come close to eventuating.

So maybe, for once, STFU?

Apart from the obvious dick measuring contest, are there any advantages / disadvantages financially to over / under reporting crowd numbers ?

There are crowd number triggering points where our payment for attendance gets a boost in our deal with the SMA. The number of times we remarkably fall just short of 40k over the last couple of years has been interesting.

it also probably helps give credibility to the sma reporting to the afl each year that the Adelaide Oval membership split is 72%/28% in favour of the crows despite no evidence to support this - skewing membership numbers overall greatly in their favour. Probably helps with attracting sponsorships and general propaganda. Just the sma helping their mates

I can’t believe the club didn’t go nuts at that.

Hey, let’s just apply a populist and subjective assumption from a bygone era to the new era at a brand new central stadium!

How hard would it have been to ask Adelaide Oval members to tick a box, or given they have access to all 22 games, why not double-count them?

Don't understimate the dick measuring for them.
Billy Frampton is a prime example!

It's also the Botafogo of Melbourne.
