How on earth are Collingwood allowed to negotiate a penalty for Sidebottom? And if the players association is getting involved, where the hell were they when wines got suspended for giving an interview to the broadcast partner of the competition? If he doesn’t get 3 weeks it’s a joke.

cause it's the VFL... #VICBIAS

Compassionate Grounds ... my bum!

Hasnt the guy got a phone? Coulda just phooned & chatted to Howe. Also should have phoned someone from the club to pick them up. Uber? He is an idiot!
Phone was flat apparently, hence the ride with the cops.

Cool, nobody cares about that. Its the 2 Uber rides, getting pissed with Wells and having to be taken home by the cops which should be 4 matches right there.
My bold

Might explain Sidebottom being "found" Sunday morning. I wonder when he was reported missing. Club reports incident to AFL Sunday arvo and Bucks finds out

about it Sunday night mmmmmm... sounds legit. Still nothing to worry about apparently it was an "event" not a pattern and Sidebottom is very remorseful

in other words Sidebottom is being dog whistled as the victim.

I'm about as far from being a wobbler supporter as you could get, but worrying about how many games a bloke should be rubbed out for visiting his mate is just a tad too fruit tingle(ish) for me.

Vic bias or not, unless one of them is found to be positive I will be very surprised if Tin Backdate gets any more than a match or two.

On Monday was looking at some win % stats for 200 and 300 game players and noticed Joel Selwood has played 299 games and won 218 games, 1 draw, 80 loses with a win % of 73.08% and win or lose in his 300th game he will have the highest win percentage of any 300 gamer.

Gordon Coventry will then be 2nd of the 300 gamers with 220 wins, 5 draws, 81 loses in 306 games for 72.71%.

Made me look up comparing him to Boak given we could have gone with either Selwood or Boak in 2006 with Pick 5.

2 differences re total games played that stand out is in 2007 Selwood debuted Rd 1, Boak Rd 12 and the number of finals games and they have missed about the same number of games with injuries over 13 and a bit seasons. They both are warriors for their clubs.

Selwood 269 games home and away + 30 finals = 299 games 218 wins for 73.08%
Boak..... 259 games home and away + 9 finals = 268 games 130 wins for 48.69%

He has won the 12th most amount of career games and win 6 more this year, and he jumps up to 7th.

Win % all players 50+ games

Guys who have played 200+ games and have a better win% than Selwood and 70% or more. Dominated by Geelong 2007-19 era players. A few Hawks from 1980's-90's in there and of course Tuck who was 70's, 80's and 90's.

There will be zero change for the Vic public. They're not allowed in to games anyway. At least in hubs they can continue to watch on tv.

This has been evident for weeks. And still Gil delays a decision. If he were in any position in any other job, he'd have been sacked a long time ago. Failure after failure. And corrupt to the core.

AFL players and club staff living in lockdown suburbs ordered to leave

AFL players living in Melbourne’s coronavirus “hot spots” have been ordered to relocate to another suburb to be eligible to play games in New South Wales.
Players must be out of their homes by midnight Wednesday.

Club football managers were informed of the edict this morning as teams prepare to vacate the state and set up camp in interstate hubs.

Multiple players and staff at seven AFL clubs are expected to be affected by the order.

The AFL has offered to put players up in hotels if they can’t find alternative accommodation.

...

Victorian club bosses are expecting to be told teams will be moved to interstate hubs as early as next week.

Its not that easy and simple. There are agreements to have game at the MCG which the MCC are paying big money for. Same applies at Marvel. These are big revenue items in a lean season. I am not saying that I disagree that things need to be moved out of Vic ASAP, but its naive to think that Gil is trying to keep games in Victoria just coz he wants to look after the victorian clubs.

I'm not necessarily you're wrong as there might be a perfectly valid answer to this question, but what do the MCC and Marvel gain monetarily from having games played at empty stadiums with no crowds?

There are no crowds there. Any contract with Marval and MCG is worth *all to them atm anyway. Is there not a contract with AO and Optus? Surely continuity for Ch7 and Fox is worth more than providing games in empty Vic stadiums.

Regardless of no crowds there is commercial benefit there and cost saving by being able to keep Melb clubs in Melb. I am by no means picking an argument, I guess i am just trying to illustrate that there would be legitimate reasons behind it (rightly or wrongly)...
