I’m in awe of West Coast’s ability to turn up and play as expected at home.

Must be nice.

Yes, their fans get a systematic dismantling of the up to this point best defensive team in the competition.

Port fans get a wet fart on a cold night with a game four days away. On another ground we don’t play well and one of the competitions best ruck.

Can actually write it because it’s happened before.

Can’t wait for finals and St Kilda chalk up their turnaround to the game against Port in late July.

I’m certainly not concerned about that.

That average is dragged up by boak Gray westhoff ebert dixon Rockliff and Motlop

The majority of those names aren’t even the core of our side anymore.

How many other teams have rozee duursma butters Marshall Georgiades spp Houston Farrell and ladhams as first 22 quality players and a list like Bergman Williams hayes and so on outside it?

And Hartlett and Jonas. They all have to be replaced as core players/earners, while entrusting the kids to develop and not hit a brick wall like Wines has.

The idea that the progression is linear and will just happen is fraught with danger.

We’re just as likely to go over a cliff.

Me too. I’m also in awe of Brisbane’s midfield: Zorko, Neale, McLuggage, Lyons and Berry. Not the biggest, tallest mids working to a dominant ruck, but geez are they hard at it, dynamic, skilful and well coordinated. We could only dream of a midfield like that.

Not including Wingard, our last home grown All-Australians were drafted in 2006.

But random group of 20 kids — that every club has in quantity — will definitely develop into a team better than the mentally fractured and weak-willed group we have now.

Brisbane are so well drilled. Their ability to hit leading forwards on the chest and thread piercing handballs through traffic to the hands of teammates is so far above ours, yet these are the fundamentals of good fast footy. We have handballed to feet and kicked on top of the heads of our forwards for so ****ing long now it's beyond infuriating, especially when one of our mantra's was about "getting the little things right". It all starts with good skills by foot and hand.

Rayner just let the mark of the year bounce off his chest. That leap was massive - sat on top of Gawn's head!

Nah. We may have some older players but there was a lot of inexperience in that team last night. Our problem is a deficiency in the middle age area.

I’ll wait for the numbers and get back to you.

McLuggage finally living up to the hype from when he got drafted. Lions have made the right call darfting him.

I am not going to provide any number. I am sure it is pretty simple to go through the team list last night and it will make it pretty clear.

Make what clear? That we’re an elderly team who got pantsed by a Saints team who are younger than us?

Good grief, man.

Still a number of young players regardless. These comparisons prove nothing as you have presented them.
The saints fielded:
a younger squad.
a less experienced squad.
a squad full of players with 1 win at AO in their careers.
a squad who fisted an older more experienced 22.

Just because you are a long term poster doesn’t make you the font of all knowledge. Good grief man.

Yeah, I assume this was directed at me? I do try to deal in fact and not the mythological narrative the club has been peddling for the past couple of years that would have dullards and simps believe we’re a team overflowing with raw children, and not one that up until recently was running with the third oldest lineup behind Hawthorn and Geelong.
