I think that's overselling him even before the knee injury he wasn't quick enough across the ground or good enough in the air to be a great modern forward.

Harsh. He kicked 63 goals as a 22 year old including single handedly winning them a Semi Final and almost winning them a Prelim Final. We are all pretty happy with Marshalls year to date at a similar age and he's kicked 9 goals in 8 games.

It might be harsh but I'm not surprised where his career has ended up.. lead up & mark nice foot skills not much else & no tank.

I remember watching him kick 8 goals for Norwood against Port as an 18 year old. Reckon most people would've predicted him to become way more than he did become at that point.

He'll end up Adelaides #1 goalkicker in their history which given the way modern football is, may not be beat for a substantial time. He's got the 6th highest average goals kicked this decade.

I reckon given he was a tweener as a junior, he's got the most out of himself. He's had a better career than any Port fan will ever admit, he's not been as good as what Crows fans will admit.

I went to your website to buy one. Just a question: the personalised message replaces the "for my favourite crows supporter" or is it in addition to that? Like to add a name or something?

It replaces the 'favourite Crows supporter' line, but I can also engrave the back if you would like to add additional text. I will update the listing now to make sure that is clearer!

In surprise to no one Tom “Teflon” Lynch got fined twice for striking in the same game.
I like the part where his 3rd quarter charge was classified as a second offence but his 4th quarter charge was classified as a first offence :drunk:

I think he was a gun until he lost his explosiveness through injury, probably should have finished his career with at least 1 AA guernsey. Plenty of lesser players have managed that. Limited player ultimately, but he plays the hardest position in the league so there's no shame in that. I think he probably got the best out of himself. He's just an easy target to hang shit on because he's a loudmouth idiot who hasn't lived up to the insane expectations bestowed upon him by Crows fans when he started out.

Pretty simple for Dixon this week, just gut punch your direct opponent 70m from the ball if you'd like some space to lead into. The $1000 it'll cost you will be well worth it.

Absolutely disgraceful. The entire system is completely backwards. We're at a point where people who are genuinely contesting the ball and are clumsy or late or use poor tackling technique are getting weeks, and Lynch gets a fine for cynically gut punching his direct opponent from behind, leaving him free to take an uncontested mark from which he kicks a goal which is effectively the sealer late in a close game.

There's never been better evidence that they've got it entirely wrong and it's time to throw the whole current system in the bin and start again.

Punches are ok again - just like pushes in the back and sack taps.
what i cant get over is this
Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Intentional Conduct with Low Impact and Body Contact. The incident was classified as a $1500 sanction as a first offence. The player can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.
first offence ?? didn't he get fined for pushing someones head into the ground ? that makes it at least a second offence unless im missing something

He could have been anything when he first came over. So much talent, really needed to be the second or third tall forward, get a lot fitter and not bulk up so much.

Lol at the idea that Dixon would only get a fine for that.

Cam Ling and co would be all over the media about how disgusting the despicable cowardly act was and the AFL would come down hard to make a statement. The quarter would be halted and the opposing side allowed three kicks for goal in a row from 15 metres out based on a sub-section of a rule written in 1927 which hadn't been used since then but Dixon was silly to not know.

They're just begging for some poor unsuspecting Fremantle, Port or North player to hand a 3 weeker to as part of their unannounced crackdown on this sort of thing.

It's time the CEOs of all eight second-tier (ie non-VFL) clubs signed a letter demanding an overhaul of the corrupt MRO process. The inequity in umpiring is bad enough, but the MRO (and the associated trial-by-victorian-media that goes with it) needs to be replaced by some kind of independent review to regain some integrity in the process.

It would take Charlie 3x3 minute rounds to punch all the blokes hanging off him.

There should be a cumulative sanction. Reported and found guilty twice in the same match, second guilty should result in at least a one match suspension.

Lynch has been coward hitting opponents for 3 weeks now. Time to rub him out.

He should be forced to change Parker Cotchin's nappies for a week, that'll learn him!

Walker, IMO

Above average first few seasons for a developing forward
One outstanding season
One season prematurely ended by injury albeit didn't start where it left off
Half a dozen or so perfectly good productive goal kicking seasons where yes he was getting better returns than any of us here wanted to admit
One season where all bar once he's looked a liability and wouldn't get a game at any team not on the bottom

the Crows can legitimately change their name to Fitzroy after this season, the leafy suburb just north of the city is look forward to the name change and once they move to the aquatic centre they will literally be there.

This.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, he was on the way down before the knee due to the bulking up to be the main man after Tippett. Also didn't help he started getting the best defender. In 2012 he was lean and explosive and mobile and has some level of footy smarts and forward craft.
