Because it softens the use of illegal drugs which should be discouraged rather than making them sound like a fun thing. I know I sound like old person speaking but I've spent too much time around drug fkd w***ers over the years.

Not really the point, he should not have been stupid enough to be out on the town at 5.30 am bringing attention to himself somehow so as to get stopped by cops, these guys need to know there are standards and that PAFC won't accept this stuff.

How does it soften anything? All it does is define the motivation behind why people are using them, as opposed to say medication or performance enhancement, which is particularly important in a sporting sense as Feel said.

Of all the factors for addiction in society “recreation makes it sound like it would be fun” would have to be laughably low.

Would go about as far to solving drug addiction in society as trying to knock over the Himalayas with a feather.

If mental health is an illness, and recreational drugs assist in it's treatment but are however prohibited substances... I dunno. To me it's a grey area of whether or not they could be considered performance enhancing in that context.

Times have changed a bit. I remember leaving The Crown & Anchor in the 90s with a mate to get some peace & have a doob. Standing in a doorway talking & smoking away then a voice comes out of speaker near us “might want to do the somewhere else mate” or something like that. We were in the doorway of the police building.
