So you’d have 3 seconds to run ten metres away from the mark if you don’t want to stand the mark 😂😂😂.

AFL premiership player Daniel Kerr has been charged following a house fire in Perth.

Police were alerted to the blaze at a Kardinya home just after 4pm on Wednesday.
“Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel were already responding to the fire at that time,” police said in a statement on Thursday.
Kerr, who police said was “linked” to the property, was arrested a short time later in Cottesloe.
Arson squad detectives charged the former West Coast Eagles player with criminal damage by fire.

F me

He’s got issues

Just sit down on the mark, make the rule a farce.

The gentleman on the mark must rotate themselves 180 degrees such that they are facing away from the free kick recipient. To show subservience, they must then pull down their pants, bend over and expose their buttocks. The free kicker than has the choice of either progressing play downfield, or attempting to kick the ball into the anus of the man in front, which can result in a "pooper Zooper goal", which is now worth ten points.

Does the rule define if jumping on the mark is allowed?
No doubt that interpretation has already been pencilled in for a port game where the margin is under 10 in the last qtr

That is considered moving on the mark and a 50m penalty will be awarded.

"... defensive players will be penalised for moving laterally on the mark, outside a 1m “level of tolerance”. This means that the defending player will only get minimal lateral movement on the mark and if the defender moves off the mark in any direction before “play on” is called, they will give away a 50m penalty. ..."

Ah good, we've added yet another aspect to the rule which requires umpires to make immediate subjective interpretations on the spot.

If we don't get rid of Gil and Hocking this game is going to be Blernsball by the end of the decade.

According to Steve Hocking the new man on the mark rule is to give us more "Dustin Martin moments". ABC radio presenter, and Richmond supporter, Andrew Hogan sums it up pretty well;

It depends how high you jump.

In the three seconds after the kick is awarded you must submit to the umpire the height off the ground you intend to be when the ball is kicked. You must be within 20cm of this mentioned height when the ball is kicked. Failing to do so will result in a 50m penalty*

*rule does not apply to "Good Blokes" (full list of good blokes for 2021 provided by Patrick Dangerfield 3/2/21)
