Well I’ve now seen enough to suggest that Melbourne will win the flag this year

Big difference to those 9-0 years and today, is Melbourne had plenty of finals success in the lead up years.

1941 won the flag in 1939 and 1940
1955 won the flag in 1948, PF in 1950, GF in 1954
1956 won flag in 1955
1960 won flag in 1955, 56, 57, 59, made GF in 1954, 58
1964 won flags above then played PF 1961, play SF 1962, 63
