He started with Adelaide at a time we didn’t have an AFL side for Port fans to aspire to play for. Also although it was two years after drafting we came in, it was also during the SNAFL inflicted two clubs era to muddy the waters. Also for a Figjam moving across to a new team, widely expected to be shit for years wouldn’t have appealed. Buckley vs. Wanganeen is a more apt comparison.

Not getting Scott Thompson, because Choco was too busy ego stroking after the 2004 flag annoyed me much more then not getting McLeod. Port boy, wanting to come to Port, we had success to offer. Bloody hell.
I thought Mick Moylan was to blame for the Thompson debacle, in that he was supposed to make contact and offer him a contract, but didn't do it until after he had signed with the tingles.
Either way it was a complete stuff up because Neil Craig had already gone public stating how much he wanted him, and we just sat on our hands expecting a Port bloke to come home. :(

I see his off-field decision making is about as good as his on-field decision making. Still in shock that bloke is on an AFL list, let alone has a premiership medal. If he can win a premiership then I’m holding out hope for Jimmy Toumpas’ 2018 Norm Smith.
An idiot as well as a dick. A fringe player scoring a bunch of hot girls that otherwise wouldn’t talk to you. Fork, if I’d have been so lucky in my 20’s I’d have been working as hard as possible and keeping my head out of trouble to have it go on as long as possible.

How pissed did you get when you won a premiership medal?

There was a huge scandal after the footy Grand Final in Woomera one year when some players from the winning team painted the opposition captain-coach's letter box in their colours. The bloke even wrote a letter to the local paper complaining about these vandals, which was silly really, because then everyone in town knew about it.

Reminds me of a twitter site - "crap local news".

Crows to delist Ellis-Yolman their Lever replacement o_O
Link
"INJURED Crows midfielder Cam Ellis-Yolmen is to fall off the Adelaide Football Club senior list in the list refit at West Lakes before the AFL national draft this month.

Ellis-Yolmen, 24, has been told he will be delisted by the Tuesday deadline for the 18 AFL clubs to submit their player lists in the lead-up to the November 24 national draft.

The Advertiser understands the Crows have committed to reconsidering the strong-bodied midfielder for its rookie list if there is no space on the senior list after the draft."

I've never heard Cam "The Next Adam Goodes" Ellis-Yolmen, a midfeilder, touted as a replacement for Lever, a defender. o_O

With any crow player ever, you can just put "he was to be the next [insert past crow name here]" and be safe.

CEY would be one of the many "next Andrew McLeod"s if not for his size which is why the Crows compared him to Goodes.

"Born in Adelaide of Aboriginal (his mum) and Papua New Guinean (dad) descent, Ellis-Yolmen was drafted at pick 64 from SANFL club Woodville-West Torrens in 2011. ... Former coach Brenton Sanderson continually raved about Ellis-Yolmen at his press conferences, describing him as an Adam Goodes prototype."

As CEY is indigenous he must play football like 191cm 100kg Adam Goodes and not 191cm 100kg Anthony Koutoufides.

Did someone say Patrick Dangerfield? :D

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport...s/news-story/fdcc8e626e0b57a13a29f5cd389c01cf

Powerfully-built at 189cm and 92kg, Ellis-Yolmen has played just 14 games for Adelaide with a career-best 11 in 2015.
This is despite former coach Brenton Sanderson lauding his talents and suggesting he could be the club’s best Dangerfield replacement because of his size and strength, which would give the Crows’ midfield — their biggest weakness — a different dimension.
The above article from only 12 months ago had Ellis-Yolmen assessing his options at Adelaide. Fast forward 12 months and they have made the decision for him.
