Richmond looking slow and Carlton looking like Gibbs is no more than a bad dream. Losing good players often seems to have a positive effect, the crows improved once Dangerfield left. The freel Garlett got to kick a goal was roundly booed but it was plainly too high.
Although now after the initial 10 minutes or so Richmond have woken up and have time to get close or lead by 1/4 time.

Richmond’s had their fairytale, the AFL are working on one of the Saints, Essendon, Blues or Melbourne as teams with a long time since their last flag. Oh the rub of the green they’re going to get this year.
Why do people always put the Saints in this train of thought? The AFL are happy to keep shitting on them and Norf.

Carlton certainly gave Richmond the jump and were then pulled back but showed a bit to retain the lead, although it had been cut to 9 points. The fact Richmond got within 5 points with about 7 minutes to go and had the momentum but then trailed by 9 points at 1/4 time looks good for Carlton. In the same game last year Carlton were 31 down at 1/2 time before losing by 43, if they're with Richmond at 1/2 time things could get interesting.
There was one of those overhead handball-type frees against the Tigers in the first quarter. Although this call was correct as the Richmond player lost control as he lifted the ball up and then punched it after it had left his hand.
At the moment Dustin Martin, Kade Simpson, Patrick Cripps and Marc Murphy have the most disposals.
