The good thing is by 5pm tomorrow we'll truly know where we are at.

I wouldn't be so 'black and white' about it.

Essendon beat the Cows, yet were allegedly garbage last week.
So come 5pm we might know a bit more about the extremes our current group can swing between.

Been just a few personnel changes on our side, adding a lot of experience in the front half of the park, hopefully consistent resilience comes with that.

Anyone, anytime, anyplace. Regardless of 'distractions'.

We were tired/not switched on. We came out and played the way we wanted to in Q3 when we had to. Just a matter of playing at the same intensity all the time.

Post game interview with (Watts? after Freo??) suggested that going at 100%, 100% of the time is not our 'plan'. Yes I'm paraphrasing not quoting.

Brisbane nearly had their best win in years against us last week. They would have been absolutely shattered. 0-3, their motivation has gone and they've reverted back to the norm.

Brisbane were terrified of having stoppages today so they let Richmond run around like millionaires. They wanted stoppages against us because they saw that as our weakness.

Port vs Brisbane
Total Clearances - 74
Total Hitouts - 77

Rich v Brisbane
Total Clearances - 53
Total Hitouts - 42

Absurd.

I think it’s because the MCG has more space so it’s hard to lock the ball in unless you’re committed to a pressing style of defence.

We play Brisbane on the MCG and the result would be just the same if not worse. They weren’t afraid of stoppages, they just didn’t have the energy or speed to cover the outlets. At AO they didn’t need to work as hard, plus the heat factor worked against our players.

Take nothing away from Richmond because they did what a premiership side should do, but I wouldn’t be reading anything into it other than last week the Lions saw us as an opponent they could test themselves against and went for it.

They saw Richmond as the reigning premiers and shit the bed.

They had 2 soulstealers in a row.

Came back from 42 points down to level the scores against the Dees in the space of a quarter, only to lose by 26.

Definitely not unless we continue that mindset tomorrow. Will wait and see. We need to go in hard early and not just allow easy uncontested ball out the middle. Sitting at etihad last year and watching essendon kick 7 in a row in one quarter wasn't a lovely afternoon.
Pretty sure they were on drugs for that game. Never seen a team look so much faster in my life...

It’s not much of a bubble, only one player really after they knifed Vince for the Matt Crouch pick.

Still stands. Imagine having Crouch (or Vince) as well as a first and second rounder with 4 years development.

They’ve robbed Peter (traded a well liked clubman) to pay Paul (cover the loss of two draft picks) and while they struck relative gold with Crouch, they’ve damaged their team culture in an attempt to cover for the **** up made by their administrators (Trigg et al).

Is it any wonder there’s fractures starting to show.

Vince is 32. Done.

Without the sanctions they probably would’ve drafted Crouch in the first round anyway, so they’re really only down one second rounder.

I agree with your culture angle though and I think that hurts them much more than one player who could’ve easily been a complete bust.

I see that through the correct decision to not ban Murray that the MRO has conceded he got it wrong in suspending Gray.

MRO Christian found that both players sought the ball, with Murray bracing for the inevitable contact.

Gray was classified as a 'chose to bump'

So in a way, they're not conceding shit.
