I think the AFL got lucky wrt Sydney being the opponent (and GWS the week before). Everyone either hates or is completely indifferent to them so they really were the perfect patsy. Even in my own post that I quoted above I mentioned how I have no love for them.

If it were say Collingwood or Richmond on the receiving end there would’ve been a much bigger uproar about the bias. But then again those clubs probably wouldn’t have been on the receiving end to begin with.
