Fine, be pro-Buckley. He looks like a good coach. I just don’t get why tribey has to turn it into a Buckley v Hinkley pissing contest everytime Collingwood has a good win. I don’t know what he’s trying to say. It’s not like Buckley has ever had any plans to coach here. He already told us to rack off once as a player when he could have come back as our first AFL captain.
I wanted him to get sacked at Collingwood and end up here in some coaching capacity but he's been backed in and turned the corner it seems unlikely to ever happen now.. he was never leaving Collingwood as a player carn' he shows great respect when talking about his history at Port.

Collingwood has a history under Buckley of going alright in the first half of the year and then collapsing in the second half, so I wouldn't be getting too excited about them at this stage.

I was at that game yesterday. It was entertaining enough, kind of like a throwback to 80s or 90s footy, but both teams leaked goals like crazy and I can't see either team being a serious premiership threat if that is the best they can do defensively.

So, after inventing (or approving) the POWER stance, now Pyke has put on a POWER Ranger costume!? Does he have a POWER obssession or something?

Geez... Once a recently-hired coach by Internacional was caught distractedly eating a Gremio ice-cream cup, and the Reds went beserk. The coach had to apologize. How does Pyke get a pass for doing this stuff, specially with their recent record?

You all are probably more mature than us. I would be all over the Cows for this.

P.S.: Since i am at this, already, from now on, someone should go to every Magpies' games dressed up as a Panda until it becomes our official mascot. (I haven't give up on Zeus! The Panda would be our black-and-white mascot.)
Zeus? Why not Harvey Weinstein?? We are “The Power”, not “The Abuse of Power”.

A chomping on a of course* would be symbolic ;)

*yeah, I know

The speed of Collingwood's mids would worry me on sunny September day
Maybe we readjust our side come a sunny file day, look at say getting Johnson in for his speed at expense for a slower mid...

Most critically, opposition speed can’t hurt you if;
1 - win the contested ball first
2 - ball use, don’t turn over, then speed can’t hurt you on the rebound.

Yea it can be overcome Johnson is a player we need to get in the side at some point IMO, Ball use ain't our strength Wines, SPP, Boak etc. can be exposed on the flip with speedier types you notice it even when we win.

Sounds as if someone needs to find some substances that improve brain performance.
You know what the problem is with people who need brain enhancing drugs? They don't know it.

Showing your full hand in June usually doesn’t bode well for September success. Name another side other than Geelong’s once in a generation crop of 2007 that has carried this sort of form through the whole season and still managed to peak in September?

True but any team with genuine pace in the midfield worries me come September there's plenty to unfold of course Polec, Motlop and even say Johnson would be nice to have humming for us at the business end too.

Essendon 2000? Still that's twice in the 40 odd years since the VFL moved beyond the borders of Victoria. Definitely outliers (and Geelong 2007 I'm still sure ran Dank Lite).

For all the froth over collingwood and Melbourne, we win on Thursday and we are equal on points, with so every winnable fixtures coming up. I am pleased we are flying well under the radar.

I agree, but being very cautious.

I have seen us be here before, right with pack only obscure into oblivion by the end of the season.

I have hope our defense will carry us further, despite the hate for our defensive tactics it has carried us this season. Without our defensive 6 we'd be nowhere near it.

I am hoping toward the end of the season we unleash the attacking devistation for longer periods though.

Lol, Now T Walker is claiming he was sent a jumper with his number on it with obscene language on it after the GWS loss.

What a lovely bunch of fans they have!!! :D :D :D
Nah, would have been either a Port supporter doing it on behalf of his girlfriend or just a regular old Adelaide Oval patron.

CYRIL Rioli's return to football is on hold and his future unclear following his return to Darwin to spend more time with his family.

The champion Hawthorn small forward was tipped to return to the side this week, having not played since round four because of a medial ligament strain.

He was reportedly desperate to play against Adelaide to honour teammate Shaun Burgoyne's 350th game.

However, he was ruled out of the game on Tuesday morning, with Hawthorn's general manager of football Graham Wright saying: "Cyril expressed to us his desire to return to Darwin with his wife Shannyn and be with their family.

"Physically, Cyril is in great condition, and potentially could have played for us in the coming weeks. However, we acknowledge his desire to be with family.

Hawks won 9 out of 10 from rounds 7 to 17 in 2015, their only loss being 4 points to Sydney.
But I guess the thing with Hawthorn was that everybody knew how they played but actually executing a plan to stop them was another thing entirely.

83k there today. Didnt PAFC66 laugh at the prospect of an 80k crowd a few weeks ago?
Didn't laugh at it but laughed at the prospect of 88k.. so did our very own Portia.. good crowd in the end, weather was good. Melbourne were shit as usual.. watch there fans drop off and head for Mt Buller and who really cares.
