I'd sack Bolton tonight.
Had lunch with a Carlton fan today, and as we spoke I could sense that his heart was breaking. But when the subject of Bolton came up, he questioned the wisdom of sacking him, saying, "What's the alternative?" The core of the team are all kids, and they need a few seasons of playing together. In short, plenty of dark times ahead before we see much improvement.

Actually they did just say 33,000 on ABC radio, but I'm sure they said 23k a little while ago. 33k is probably "as well as can be expected".

EDIT:
Official crowd: 33,780 at Etihad Stadium
Adult tickets were $13 for tonight’s match... probably added 10k maybe more just because of this.

Top three fantasy point scorers for Adelaide were all named Rory. Top three for St Kilda were all named Jack. No other teams this round have three players with the same name.

Three Jacks got the votes on ABC radio. Jack Silvagni wasn't one of them. St Kilda had six Jacks to choose from. As well as a Jade, a Jake and a Jarryn and a Jimmy :D

These Bolton pressers hooley dooley
I honestly don't know what you do.

The narrative, trotted out as recently as this week by the likes of Denis Pagan, is that the salary cap punishment is what has done Carlton in.

Reality is, the Blues had become a realistic premiership threat circa 2011-12, what with missing a PF by a kick and then starting the year after like a house on fire. Even then, they famously managed to sneak into the 8 from 9th and ruin Richmond in an EF in 2013.

The ghosts of Stephen O'Reilly and Jack Elliott had nothing to do with the decision to ship Fevola to Brisbane, or pay a crocked Daisy Thomas instead of Eddie Betts, or pay a king's ransom for Ol' Strokeyface Judd (Kennedy + Pick 2), or trade the likes of Grigg, Robinson, Garlett, Jacobs for a waxed hamster.

And here's Smiles Bolton, beholden to the multi-generational legend as list manager, luring a bunch of schlubs from his time at GWS, none of whom are any good. While a clown like Trigg parachutes in and out based on his track record of achieving nothing but failure.

A few on this board have got it in for the likes of North, St Kilda and the Dogs of being unworthy of their status in the national comp, but compared to Carlton's past 20 years they look like Real Mafreakingdrid.

How they barely have had the blowtorch on them by the media/AFL of the the last decade is mind boggling.

I have a funny feeling that the Saints may cause a few upsets on the way home - starting with Richmond next week... I reckon our win over them may be better than most - including us supporters - are giving credit for!

Wow, poo doesn't even BEGIN to describe this match. Switched on 5 minutes into the second 1/4 and it feels like I've been watching this shitfest for hours. :poo::poo::poo:

Neither team deserve the 4 points for this game and if the winner has any sense of decency they will hand them back.
If AFL had relegation it would make matches like this compelling.

"We will probably have to get rid of a player like Atkins to get Luko AND Rankine".

Did LOL!

Makes sense. Lukosius and Rankine probably don't want to play with Ratkins either.

The sadist in me wants Carlton to finish up with just the 1 win for the season, but they’ll beat Gold Coast.
essendon finishing 9th and missing finals because they were the only team to lose to carlton would be the nice cherry turd on top of their shit cake :D
