Brazil did that. It has just punished those who drink responsibly.
In the UK you can have a drink at the football, but you can’t drink it in view of the field of play, so you have to stay in the bar to drink it.

Geelong like Hawthorn find a way to win in the dying seconds. I remember when you couldn't discount a Port Adelaide comeback. Good times good times.

Even when they went 5 goals down early in the last I thought Geelong were still probably odds on to win. It's just what they do. And conversely, losing critical games like that is just what Melbourne do. Culture is so important in footy.

Add last week's North v Sydney into the discussion. All 3 won by a goal that changed the lead. I can't split them because all 3 have different talking points.
Yeah that was a magnificent match. Begs the question - after winning that game last week, how on earth did Sydney lose to Gold Coast yesterday? I guess it illustrates the "on the day" nature of our game, and why tipping winners is so tough.

Ban alcohol at pubs too to avoid a fight breaking out?

I’ve always thought the best ways to stop pub fights is ban people for life from licences premises.

No more pubs, restaurants etc and they can explain it to their kids one day that they were once dicks

The link between sports violence and alcohol is tenuous at best. Most football thugs were at the game to cause trouble anyway, it just so happens they were probably drinking before they punched someone. The number of "dutch courage" assaults that would not have happened without alcohol would be well in the minority.

Sydney started the game against the Suns looking like they were just carrying on from the week before when they led 6.5 to 1.5 after a minute in the second quarter. And then they gave up 11.11 to 2.11.
Geelong did something similar with their dominance and defeat of Sydney at the SCG followed by weak performances at AO and GMHBA.

This already happens here. Banned from one, banned from all. Means you can't even play sports if there is a bar at the oval. Can't go to a Golf Club. Can't attend a wake at a funeral if it's on a premises. Can't go to a wedding.

People will learn.

Those two guys who jumped on the downed guy on the ground and protected him from being further attacked are quality blokes. There's a lot of dogs in that video (call em out Lingy?) but that's a real good, brave, selfless act there.

Fights do happen. It's good to know there are people like this around.

Great marketing opportunity for the stadium sponsor -

Worried about GBH?

Which is why Hawthorn and West Coast fans should be nervous today, and despite our shocker last week, we're a big chance this afternoon.

The last few rounds have seen more upsets and close games than we had early in the year. At one point things looked so easy to pick that any team below tenth looked well out of contention. Things have changed considerably now and teams that looked safe before are now likely to miss finals altogether.

As well as our two dreadful performances at Optus this year we've also drawn the smallest attendance for both West Coast and Freo at the new stadium (even the Dockers 'away' game against GCS drew more). With today's shitty weather forecast WCE vs Dogs will likely draw their first sub 50k crowd.

Seriously when you look at that last play Melbourne really stuffed up big time.
There defence left a hole 35 out straight in front for someone to lead into.
I agree teams like Geelong and Hawthorn find a way to win close games because they don’t wet there pants in the last couple of minutes but if that was Port last night that did what Melbourne did I would be spewing.
