… The only 'fair' system would be the NFL's, where every final is cutthroat, with a floating rankings system, but the AFL would never risk having an 8th-placed minnow shock'n'knock a moneyspinning powerhouse minor premier.

The NRL used to have this until one year when IIRC 8th did beat 1st and it made the whole finals series a joke. Was changed to mirror the AFL's soon after. At least the current system does favour the top two as you would expect. The whole MCG thing is going to disadvantage an interstate team regardless of the system. This has gotten worse since the expansion to 18 as the travel demands on the interstate team are staggering compared to the likes of Collingwood, who can get an Uber to all of their away games.

And if we could get in a cripple division where we were up against st kilda carlton and gold coast.. like the Patriots every year.

Despite losing to WCE at the MCG earlier this year, I reckon Collingwood would be happier playing them than Melbourne in the GF
Exactly. They would hate for their home ground advantage to be shared with the opposition.

Exactly what I was saying earlier, no way i can go for them in the GF, nor Collingwood for the matter.

non event for me next week, not even going to bloody watch. I'll find something else to do.
When the wobbles were halfway through dismembering the tiggs I was thinking how I'm ok about the pies

Then the camera cuts to 'side by side' crowd and Laird Miwyon-Air and I hate myself for thinking of

Brady's Patriots versus,

AFC: 77.4%
• AFC East*: 79.1%
• AFC North: 83.3%
• AFC South: 80.6%
• AFC West: 63.6%

NFC: 76.5%
• NFC East: 81.2%
• NFC North: 87.5%
• NFC South: 75.0%
• NFC West: 66.6%

Mile High and Arrowhead, both AFC West, are incredibly hard places to play, but then so is Foxborough, so.

Imagine being Freo and have West Coast win their 4th premiership while you’re still on 0.

Imagine being me and having to live among these oxygen bandits whilst supporting a team that has become their Washington Generals like play thing.

Listen David king and all the flogs saying how unlucky people like Nic Nat and Gaff are not to be playing in the GF. Gaff knocked someone’s head off, he’s got what he deserved

Someone should ask him how Jamie Elliott, Alex Fasolo, Jarryd Blair, Ben Reid, Tim Broomhead, Matt Scharenberg, Lynden Dunn and Daniel Wells are travelling these days.

Hate the way the commentators talk up the losing team with comments such as
“They’ll be right in it next year” and “The future looks bright for them”.
Do they really have such short memories to have forgotten what can happen the year following a successful one?
i.e. Port 2015, Crows 2018..and how quickly Bulldogs slipped down the ladder.
They really do talk a lot of shit.
