Eags paying $2.25 to win the GF. Collingwood have been impressive but West Coast beat them at the 'G during the season and look absolutely primed. Get on at those odds.

Was looking this morning on Sportsbet and you could have got $4.50 for the Eagles to win the flag.
I should have jumped on.

As far as I'm concerned no Port Adelaide supporter should be getting behind West Coast this weekend.

South Australians hating Collingwood is dumb but every time they look like a challenger you've got the "anyone but Collingwood" idiots piping up. Generally casual footy followers or Crows supporters who don't have the Victorian context to hate Collingwood and can't actually explain what their issue with them is outside of a dislike of Eddie McGuire for whatever reason.

West Coast are a far more hateable club in almost every facet.

I've said this before but...living in Melbourne I actually find Collingwood to be one of the better clubs here, and if you ask the average footy fan why they hate Collingwood, most of them will shrug and say "I don't know, everyone else does".

People naturally hate clubs with a big supporter base because of how many of their fans seem to be everywhere, but that's only relevant in Victoria if it all.

No one would give Collingwood any chance if the game was played in Perth. The fact they're favourites blows any concept of "The 'G is really a neutral venue for the Grand Final" out of the water.

Bad news for West Coast, every time there’s been a QF rematch in the GF, the QF loser has gotten up (2003,2005,2006,2015)

I dont like seeing either club get sucess! but i think the west coast tall foward line will be too much for collingwood. If the eagles win it will the 3rd year in a row since hawthorn completed their 3peat that the winning coach is an ex clarkson assistant. So next year i might put some money on gws

Like most Port players, I felt far more comfortable when I had no vested interest in results (which for me was once Hawthorn were eliminated.)

Couldn’t care less who wins the GF. Would like to hear the USA chant again though. That’s an amazing story of persistence by both club and player.

Weve had a good connection with them over the years. Landscape changed with our AFL entry but many Port supporters followed Collingwood in the VFL.

I've gone a bit Neil Kerley in my old age. He didn't care who won the grand final if a team he coached wasnt in it and I dont care who wins if Port aren't in it.

Yeah it’s not quite that simple for me.

EDIT: to be absolutely clear, none of this means I’d ever back West Coast in anything, except against the Crows, or when it benefits us.

We’ve got two decent opposing coaches, both Uber professional in their day, one never a campaigner, the other an infamous FIGJAM on field but finally has matured. WC has the bigger campaigners on field and the more annoyingly ignorant fan base - in the Crows sense of wilfully ignorant, not in the classic Collingwood fan sense of ignorant by some form of “impairment”.

So by a nose... it’ll be the Pies, I hope.

I don't really mind who wins, but because it's the last game for 6 months, I hope we get the thrilling finish we haven't really had since 2012, when Sydney won one of the all time great grand finals against Hawthorn.
