I'm with you. the old one has a raw chunkiness to it that could only work for a football club emblem.
Would be great to see them follow through and rebrand everything with it.
They were already angling at returning to the classic monogram after it was so warmly received last year, but rest assured Triggy will put it on his list of achievements when the bluebagger brethren rightly vote it in as their permanent strip and the universal congratulations for doing so roll in.

Port are the Gen Y club of the AFL. It's all about me, me, me.
Don't worry about supporting the community and giving back to a competition that has been running for nearly 150 years. A competition you have been part of. No **** that. As long as Port are okay.
Gen Y comparisons always make me laugh. I've always wondered how people justify classifying an insanely large sample of people across multiple cultures, socioeconomic classes, and regions in their head to all have a unique personality trait in common.
Yeah, I could be wrong, but the switch to the logo monogram coincided with technology allowing printed guernseys. You couldn't pull off the required intricacy with the old woolen ones.

I reckon the early 2000s one is the best, I don't fully understand the appeal of the old monograms, probably since I never saw Carlton play in them (nor did I see Carlton ever be a good team).
exactly Finbar. What a team wears is incredibly important to a teams supporters. Ask Port Adelaide people what they think about prison bars vs BiB. Oh wait.
